Beautiful house ❤️ Main reason it has a reputation is it's amazing Queen Anne Gothic architecture & people's imaginations over that. Wish it was restored it to how it should be, I LOVE buildings like this. Really shows up the boring modern crap built too close by!

I get you were going for Creepy, but it's being renovated, so how creepy is that? Wish you had slowed down on more details than the portrait on the mantel...

..hard to believe a home of this grandeur could fall into such a state of disrepair. Probably costing over 500K when originally built, these "castles" can deteriorate quickly over time without proper maintenance. In the 1950's - 1970's these huge opulent structures were usually turned into "rooming" houses, with some tenants abusing the structure, and through time, removing the architectural elements to conveniently "cash out" from the dwelling even more, leaving a bare bones structure, that, by that time absentee landlords did not care enough to maintain. Today, in 2022, it makes sense to restore these homes as examples of our societies past. These homes were well made, using timber and materials unavailable today, with craftmanship rarely used today (imagine, no electricity power tools). Its rewarding, to live in these "time capsules" of human structural evolution, and, an earned joy restoring one.

Bseriouss Kells- Well, I won't respond to your clever comment per se, but I will say this: The place is a dump, and if somebody wants to hand me a million dollars to work with, I'll actually remodel the joint!

There are no secret passages. Just a staircase from the kitchen to the front door. No secret rooms, no secret tunnels, no secret doorways to Hell. And if somebody hands me a million dollars to work with, I'll actually remodel the dump!

It has a new owner- for over a year now. The cable guy has been there, now they are starting to fix the windows and they put lace curtains on the third floor ( the ballroom ) and they must have done the floors up there, they had the windows open and the curtains were blowing- freaky, There were workmen there today.
@williamanthony90905 жыл бұрын
badbearwatch- Yeah? You posted your comments four years ago. Are they done remodeling it yet? Somebody determined to remodel this dump, should have had it done in eighteen months tops!

Tonya it's really pretty and you get a creepy feeling. I walked around it. When I was there they had everything boarded up and locked. They had a brand new door on it and it was locked. There was also old clothes there in the corner. I think homeless people stay there in the corners on the outside.

Judy Garland's last husband, Mickey Deans, lived there from 1985-1999. He had a pink hot-tub and shag carpeting installed in the main bedroom - Jayne Mansfield, anyone? - must've been an eyesore.

Great walk through. So, somebody spent a million dollars renovating this place? How come they couldn't manage to finish remodeling even one room? And could somebody please sweep the friggin floors? Give me a million dollars to work with, and I'll show you some actual results. Geez!
@coleman90715 жыл бұрын
dude you're not getting a million dollars to remodel it. Doubt they will never remodel it bc if it's history nobody wants to live in a house with spirits like that. If the state decides to remodel it they will most likely turn it into a bed and breakfast.

you need to pan slower, no way this was for the news. I could film better than that... and why are the lights on.
