Is growing up in a zoo really better than their natural habitats? I guess if there is a high risk of poachers yes but I don't know how happy a life in captivity actually is.

Of course it would be perfect to let them out in nature to live how they are intended to be but with endangered species it's better to be safe and have a good amount of new babies with diverse dna so they could be all released in the future and maybe save the species. It's the best we can do

How precious! Going to Franklin Park Zoo was one of the highlights of when my children were growing up. And the Lowland Gorillas were my favorite exhibit! How wonderful that a beautiful little baby was born! Now that I’m a granny, I’ll definitely have to get a new membership and go back!!
