Orangutan babies stay with their mothers for seven to eight years, so it is understandable at just three years of age that she wants to stay with her human mother. Thank goodness there are kind, loving and understanding humans there to help her. What a tragedy that it is necessary.

This will damage them even more. She would spend the first 10years of her life on her mother who teaches her where every source of food is how to build a nest and so much more. How can anyone laugh at such distress?
@karencancerianpriestess7124 жыл бұрын
@@montaraful I was referring to chiquitas joyful, sweet moments hiding her hand and showing off to the new volunteers, how happy she is! Not her actual tantrums for not getting her own way. Which changed as soon as she was given something else to focus on, may I add, just as any small child behaves. Any mum would get these actions completely as my comment stated, I never said I laughed at her tantrum, which isn’t easy for anyone to deal with. You should think twice before you twist another’s words into whatever you want them to mean next time

@@karencancerianpriestess712 well, can you really accuse me of twisting words? “Chiquita had me laughing out loud” is all you said. True, there’s a happy ending, sort of, to this video, but for the most part it’s so distressing that, to me, it completely overshadows even the happier finale. Your comment does not acknowledge this darker content and comes across as callous because of that.

@@michaelaclarke3228 I don't think you understand, these are not pets. These are wild animals. The fact they were stolen and made to be pets is horrific and what put trauma in to them in the first place. Some lost their mothers to poaching and deforestation. However, these care takers have to encourage them to become orangutans. Which means they have to be independent or else they won't survive. They won't always have a care taker around, especially not IN THE WILD. Are you dedicating your entire life to taking care of orangutans? If not, maybe you should find something else to do. Thats not actually ideal though. Orangutaans are solitary. In the wild they prefer to be alone, only really socializing for mating and raising babies. So growing up means learning how to be without mama. But all babies in any species, even humans, have this, so this process of weaning is perfectly natural.
