Think about it. A poor kid who’s trying to get his family out of the hood, leaves high school and goes to college to focus on that and play football. Who has the time in that situation to do some due diligence about who they are doing business with?back then, it also cost a good bit of money to dig into peoples backgrounds.

@BearDownCats96Ай бұрын
In all honesty it was illegal what the him and the school did. Now yes I realize that getting paid in college is now legal but it wasn’t when this happened. Some people may be saying “so what it doesn’t change his stats” but in many ways it does. If Reggie wasn’t promised all the things from USC, would he still have gone to USC? Or would he have chose a different school to attend? Would that school run the same offense and have the same caliber of lineman blocking for Reggie ? Chances are probably not. Now I’m not saying it’s right or wrong I’m just stating why it was taken away in the first place. It was not just because he got “gifts” it’s because those “gifts” played a massive part in his career.
