No KZbinr has mentioned what I think is the best money farming strategy in the game - and I’m not sure if it’s been patched in the next gen version but I doubt it since it never has gotten much attention. Killing pigs on a farm will give you either ham, or pig hide, and there happen to be three pigs next to the spot where the Runewright sets up that respawn instantly as soon as you walk 10 feet away from them. You can literally get unlimited ham and pig hide from using igni on the three pigs probably 10-15 times a minute. Edit) still works in next gen version!

@ try it if you have access to the Northeastern part of Velen and you’re playing the next gen version. Go to where the Runewright sets up his shop, there are three pigs in a pen right near him, you can hear them making pig sounds. They should respawn after you walk a short distance away after you kill them.

Theres a better spot in brunwich village. Theres something like 10 pigs there. White Orchard at the very start has a pig pen with 5 or 6 pigs in you can farm for money as well . Igni away for your life ! 🤣

Got another tip, you should always combo swallow with any food, cuz even tho swallow does regen a little bit of health, it's main perk is that it increases health regen. So, if you combo it with food you will regen a lot more health than normally.

I hate enemy leveling. Because a regular Joe shouldn't be able to take the same damage as a huge monster. Geralt should be able to chop the heads off of most human enemies in one hit.

Easiest difficulty + Enemy upscaling (Off). Hanged man’s oil if you must. You will kill most if not every ‘Joe’ in a single swing of the sword. However, monsters such as necronphages, get affected by this as they as well, hardly require a second slice to die. Not to mention powerful monsters become a sorry-mess that dies in five hits. That is why for immersion and some fun at the same time, the normal difficulty is the best. After level 8, enemies get killed after one or two hits, since the ai is smarter and knows how to block sword attacks. While smaller monsters die at three to four hits, the stronger ones take ten to twenty. They also deal quite a bit-of-damage when compared to the easier difficulty. Blood abs broken bones does not change the damage much, yet in terms of how many hits mobs can take, it is nearly twice the amount. Death March is out of the question. The most immersive way is NG+ on the normal difficulty, in NG+ the enemies deal more damage by default. Meaning you can kill a drowner in there hits, while it can kill you in five or six. Very immersive and somewhat realistic when compared to the other difficulties.

@DarkHandle no way I would play ANY game on easy. I take out human enemies with ease on blood and broken bones. Doesn't double the amount an npc can take. I one or 2 hit most humans. When you have enemies upscale with you, they are just as strong as you no matter what level you are (for the most part). That's what I hate. I dont mind a fight with a challenge. I want their hits to hurt me too. I shouldn't be able to take 10 hits and walk away like nothing happened. Or have to eat non stop.

It helps that I found the silver and steel viper set on lvl 2. Only thing I hate is having 7-8 swords that I can’t use because of my level, have a few that are over 30 but can’t use them yet :/ and armor as well lol

@@hollister2320 If that's the case, you're probably not playing the "right way". Obviously, you can tackle the story and so on as you see fit. What I mean by "wrong" is simply the fact that the game kind of lays out the way it wants you to play it for max fun. You can change this or that and get basically the same story, but if you're only a level 4 and you have level 30 weapons, you probably "over explored". Anyway, the answer to your swords issue is easy. Put them in the chests that are in the tavern in White Orchard, Crows Pearch in Velen, and so on. I put swords I don't want to sell in there. Same with armor. Like, I don't want to get rid of my Nilfgaardian outfit that you get at Crows Pearch and the other one you get in WO. So, I just put them in the chest. I'll never use them, but it seems wrong to sell them for some reason. You can do the same then when you're at the right level, you'll have access to them Any one-off outfit or weapon I keep. Uless there is no chests on DM. Though I don't think that's the case. I've never played on DM. I feel like BaBB is the perfect setting. It makes it hard enough that you have to be good while making it easy enough to be able to enjoy the story and fights without dying over and over. I"ll play on DM one of these days.

White Raffard's Decoction is the best vitality potion in the game IMO. Immediately restores vitality instead of gradually building it. Very handy when fighting large groups of enemies on higher difficulties where seconds count. In particular in B&W dlc doing the knights errant missions. Those strongholds with multiple bandits and guard dogs can be beastly. I use maxed Swallow/ White Raffard's Decoction on the up/down quick use slots and Golden Oriole to cancel Toxicity on the right. Life saver !!!!!!!

Im on my second play through after a 250 hour first. The first point is very valid. I tend to walk to quests around 300 metres ???? away as the crow flies. Come across so many things. I'd also drop custom markers on anything that looked like a building or landmark on my way there. Good way to find random locations on way to destinations.

Correct . I always walk (read run ) everywhere in this game to see what I come across. If its a long distance I use fast travel. I never use roach at all .

Seeing those split up red attack skills on the right at around 5:40 has me questioning why you wouldn't group them together to get almost the same attack bonus plus an extra bonus by adding in a green mutagen for the 2 green alchemy skills? Also I have never found a single piece of Witcher gear in contracts, every single one I've ever gotten was under the treasure hunts tab. Unless it's different between PC and console? Also at 5:02 did you forget about how it was you that placed that fake sheep during the opening of the game? Literally our very first major monster contract, and totally unmissable.

Another reason to pick up all the plans for armor upgrades...you have to have the earlier ones to make the higher ones...so it's nice to have the plans on hand when you want the upgraded versions. Each upgrade needs items and those items are expensive. If you can make an armor piece early, make it and stow it in your stash. Otherwise you have to spend a ton to get a complete set made in order to spend a ton and a half to upgrade it.

I rarely used crossbow during my initial PC gameplay due to its shit key binding (press mouse scroll / mouse 3), no other good key bind available without losing another action. Forced to use it in later stages when its damage increased.

To get money early on there is a spot in white orchard you can farm pigs using igni . Kill them , meditate for an hour rinse and repeat . Its amongst the main buildings next to the river and is a quite small pig pen . . Sell the hides to the merchant near woesong bridge . You sometimes have to barge a peasant out of the way who gets in the way of your wholesale slaughter.

One thing that a lot of players have trouble with is their first real quest after escaping white orchard, the werewolf quest. He regenerates health faster than you can kill him . Use axii on him to stun him and then give him the good news.

Trophies are pointless..... Let me explain, most of them offer the same bonuses: 5% XP from monsters, 5% XP from humanoid and 5% more gold. All in all pretty underwhelming. Just keep a monster and humanoid XP boost on hand and change out as needed. The rest are dead weight.

Agree. I'd use the XP boost until build is decent. Then run the gold boost or dismember. Dismember is good on higher difficulty as usually results in one hit kills when it activates. Sell any duplicate perks for decent cash. Some are worth 300 plus coins.

Especially when i was doing barons missions and i was headed to the swamp area and came across some lvl 22 thing (looked like one of the crones and was surrounded by crows) and 2 shot me w a ranged attack that looked like wood style from naruto 😂

Auto oil is pointless, so really it doesnt even matter because it all gets done for you and you dont even know when it happens. Weirdest feature imo

It's not pointless. It's a time hack. It's literally saving a decent quantity of time if you're playing over 100 hours from not accessing a menu you've entered a million times in a playthrough. At higher difficulty, oils really make a difference.
