I love the scarf and hat. ❤️. I just started practicing crocheting again two weeks ago(I’m 58 years young). My mom taught me some simple steps as a young girl and now that I’m a grandma( age 3 and age 2yr9months) I wanted to learn to crochet gifts). I stated following you for your hair videos and am thrilled to now learn crocheting from you! I’m going to make the hat and scarf for my friend. Thank you!!❤

That's awesome, Brenda! We are the same age, and I was just blessed with 2 grandsons in January. I'm so glad you're crocheting again! When you do make projects, send pics to my email address...we have a series called 'Crochet & Tell', where we showcase crochet projects from our community.❤️

this looks fantastic Frannie :) If I ever come across yarn like this in Australia I will make this for sure :)

Is it hard to get this type over there?

@@FranniesHair yes I have never seen it any where over here and the postage to buy anything direct from the USA is absolute insane.. I hope the Hobbii or Ice yarn have some thing simular once I go to do another order in about 6 months time.... I am over flowing with yarn at the moment and not obtaining anymore until at least 1/2 of my stash is used up...

Beautiful and so cozy looking. I made a couple of those hats last year for gifts... I will check my stash, I enjoyed working with that furry yarn! Thanks Frannie! 🤗

I'd love to see a pattern for a shawl collar ("croissant" shape) with a one-button closure. Hint hint!

Sure. It’s Lionbrand’s Go for Faux yarn. If you click on ‘more…’ under the video, I have links to the yarn on the Lionbrand website. It’s the thick & quick version. The yarn feels so soft!🧶❤️

I’ve made 3 of these hats now, 1st hat used a size Q which my hat seems to be small for a younger person, then used an S but still small, so I used a MM which is bigger but still doesn’t look as full as yours. Not sure what I’m doing wrong as I’m counting as I go.

I tend to crochet on the looser side and I have a petite to average head (21.5"). The hat should also be stretchy. Did you use the same yarn? What you can do is add a few more increase rounds. To do that, add an increase (2sc in a st) in the st that is equal to the round number minus 1. For example, R1: 6 sc, R2: 2sc in each st, R3: 1sc, 2sc (repeat), R4: 1sc, 1sc, 2sc (notice that the 2sc (increase) happens in every 3rd st (R=4, 4-1=3), R5: 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 2sc (increase happens in every 4th st),... Does that make sense?

Was it the same size hook as the hat?
@FranniesHair Жыл бұрын
No, I used an S for the hat and a Q for the scarf, but you could use the same size. The Q is smaller so it creates a little tighter fabric.
