This arrangement is available in 3 different voicings -- this one is SAATTBB. I'm pretty sure the Chanticleer is Trio (TTB) and Chorus (TTBB).

One of my favorites. The Chanticleer arrangement has only tenors and basses starting the chorus section after the bass solo. This arrangement has all 4 parts starting the chorus. I'd like to know where I can find that arrangement.

it's one of few men's pieces. it loses a lot putting women in it. sounds like a christmas carol with women, sounds like a dissonant chant with only men singing, a very peaceful dissonant chant.

It’s best in SATB, terrible in SAA since it has no grounding while written for TTBB. The All male version loses some of the stratospheric effects which are transcendent. It is not at all dissonant, gloriously creating deep multilayer harmonies
