This song reminds me of my mom. She generally didn't like my music because she said it was too loud for her. Until one day while I was listening to that album "Do You Want To" started playing and my mom liked it so much that every time I put it on she would say "Turn up the volume, I love that song!" and she would shake his head or asked me to repeat it one more time. She even set it up as a ringtone, so whenever I called her she would know it was me. I miss those times :)

I've not watched Paradise Kiss yet, as I just vaguely remember this song as a kid, but I'm pretty amazed that is was used as the ending song when the anime only started airing just under ONE MONTH after the song was released. Like whoever was in charge of choosing the ending theme must've been a big Franz Ferdinand fan, which is still weird as they were pretty new to the scene, or just happened to come across this song and decided to use it. It was a chart topper in the UK but for that to reach Japan in 2005 seems weird to me.

Reading old comments on this video, I see Cyberpunk: Edgerunners isn't the first anime to use a Franz Ferdinand song. Fascinating - never would have picked that these guys were 'Big in Japan'. But I like that. Listened to them throughout high school and saw them live in London in 2005, which was epic (first time in Europe, one of my first live gigs and one of my favourite bands).
