Franz Ferdinand - Musilac 2023 - ARTE Concert

🇫🇷 Une fraction de seconde. C’est le temps qu’il faut pour reconnaitre le premier accord de "Take Me Out", titre qui a propulsé les Ecossais de ‪@franz_ferdinand‬ au firmament du rock indé de ce troisième millénaire. Pourtant, au moment de sa sortie, le single issu de leur premier album éponyme est aux antipodes des boîtes à rythme et autres sonorités synthétiques de l’époque.
Mais si chez eux, les batteries sont organiques et les guitares ont réellement vu leurs cordes vibrer, les compositions de la bande à Alex Kapranos et Bob Hardy n’en sont pas moins dévastatrices. Empruntant l’implacabilité des rythmes dance, conjuguée à l’explosivité des guitares post-punk, le tout avec une irrévérence typiquement britannique, le groupe créé l’un des sons les plus caractéristiques de ce début de millénaire.
Mais gare à qui laisserait "Take Me Out" faire de l’ombre au reste de l’oeuvre de Franz Ferdinand. Car du haut de ses 6 albums (dont un en collaboration avec les mythiques Sparks), de ses deux Brit Awards, et de son Mercury Prize, la formation de Glasgow s’est frayé une place dans le panthéon du rock international, créant et peaufinant un son inimitable et à la dansabilité incomparable dont le public de Musical compte bien se délecter.

Es dauert nur den Bruchteil einer Sekunde, bis man den ersten Akkord von „Take Me Out“ erkennt - den Titel, der die schottische Band Franz Ferdinand zu Indie-Rock-Giganten des dritten Jahrtausends gemacht hat. Als die Single aus dem gleichnamigen Debütalbum der fünf Jungs veröffentlicht wurde, bildete sie einen krassen Kontrast zu den Drumcomputern und anderen synthetischen Klängen der damaligen Zeit.
Doch nicht nur die organischen Drums und die real schwingenden Gitarrensaiten, auch die Kompositionen der Band um Alex Kapranos und Bob Hardy tragen wesentlich zu ihrem Erfolg bei. Mit unwiderstehlichen Dance-Rhythmen, explosiven Post-Punk-Gitarren und der typischen Coolness „Made in UK“ erschuf die Band einen der charakteristischsten Sounds des neuen Jahrtausends.
Allerdings sollte „Take Me Out“ das restliche Werk von Franz Ferdinand nicht in den Schatten stellen, denn mit sechs Alben (eines davon in Zusammenarbeit mit den legendären Sparks), zwei Brit Awards und dem Mercury Prize eroberte sich die Band aus Glasgow einen Platz im Pantheon der internationalen Rockmusik. Ihre unverwechselbare und unglaublich tanzbare Musik wird das Publikum des Musilac Festivals auf jeden Fall begeistern.
