Franz Josef is a tiny town on the west coast but its so worth going to visit to see 2 glaciers and jump on a helicopter ride like we did!! This is so exciting. So glad you got to do this after all. This is insanely spectacular. That is something that I would never forget. Our first time being next to a glacier on a boat was unforgettable, but walking on top of one is really amazing. We may not have many in the future, so congrats on getting that in now. Hello hello! We went in August which is peak winter here! On the day our flight was cancelled as the cloud came too low so we actaully had to go the next day at 10am 😃 I do recommend staying a few days so you have time to redo if this does happen to you :)

Actually I’m travelling from Sydney, any idea how to reach the base from where you start the ride? Like which airport should we land and is there any public transport from airport to the base?

@@nenichaudhary franz josef is really out of the way the closest airport is Queenstown or CHCH but from there its still and 4hour drive away so you will need a car! no public transport. its really isolated so i would suggest to hire a car if you want to get here!
