Hey Josh! I'm looking to buy a hobie adventure island for a good deal on craigslist. I really love the idea of sailing and fishing; however, I would also like to fish some local lakes without the sail or out riggers. How stable and suitable for fishing is this craft without the outriggers?

It works as a kayak without the amas just fine. I fish out of mine like that whenever the wind is absent. The daggerboard helps stability quite a bit. Or you could always just fit a single ama and pedal around outrigger style.

Amazing Josh! Can't wait for next video!!! What did the you get the marlin to bite on?
@yakabout10 жыл бұрын
Interestingly enough, I got it to bite on a livie and a squidgy slick rig, both at the same time. The story behind this catch is part of what made it so interesting. I had 2 lines out - one a livie, the other a slick rig lure. I'd been towing them for about an hour and started thinking to myself that I was wasting time trolling the lure next to a livie. So I decided to reel the lure in. As I was doing so I saw the marlin following it closely, and then slashed it with it's bill and darted off. I quickly let the line freespool, and then looked at my other rod to see if it might take the livie. When I looked back at the lure I could see the marlin's head right next to it. So I gave the rod a gentle pull and it hooked up. The full video will show this. The thing is that it was already hooked up on the livie, its just that neither me or the fish knew it. When you see me cut the line in that clip its because I thought the fish might get tangled in it. But when it came up I realized that it had also been hooked with the livie, and hooked a lot better I might add. The jig of the lure I reeled it in on was hooked near its mouth, not in it. And that line was only 20lb braid, whereas the other one was 30lb mono, and a much heavier rig. I would have been far better to reel it in on the heavier rod. It was more of an accomplishment to get it on the light rod, but the fight took a while because of it, and the fish really exhausted itself. Was lucky to bring it back to life upon release
