It is a real view of life. So many children grow up wondering "how is THAT my father/mother? I'm nothing like him/her!" The older you get, the more shared quirks reveal themselves. I wish these folks were part of my actual family, and in some small ways they actually are.

I think the writing in Frasier is amazing because they didn't have to dumb down the jokes for everyone (like most sitcoms do). People always comment how brilliant the writing and it's because they wrote it for smart characters. Not only that you have scenes/segments where it goes from Funny to sad to heartfelt all in 1 scene.

Yeah, that was how David Hyde Pierce got the role. It was created just for him because one of the people helping to plan the show found a picture and showed it saying "doesn't he look like a young Kelsey Grammer?" Pretty remarkable coincidence that made the show better than it would have been without him.

I watch back-to-back Cheers episodes every night. Season 11 winding down and soon will return to Diane getting dumped by Sumner Sloane and ending up in Cheers. What still impresses me about Cheers is that these characters just hit the ground running from Day 1! They seemed to know every nook and cranny of their characters from the get-go. Frasier was no different when we were introduced to him sitting at the bar in Season 3, Episode 1. Really uncanny how masterfully Kelsey Grammer has inhabited the character of Frasier. Not sure if the writing will be up to the challenge in the reboot, but have every confidence in the actor to breathe life into an older, and I doubt any wiser, Frasier Crane.

From 5:16 to 9:19, the chair scene has to be one of my favorite hilarious scenes in the entire *Frasier* series.
