I still haven't watched that. But another example might be taking the placenta after birth and burying it with a tree. The tree and the spirit of the baby live on. I take this example from 1980s Perth when, or so I recall, I met several mothers who did this.

I've never studied West African belief system that also was taken to Latin America which is sometimes called "voodoo" etc. However, most 'traditional' belief systems display elements of what Frazer called the "imitative principle".
