Gary, I have a problem. I'll be 66 this summer and I'm not a rich man. Poor but Blessed. Do you think it's to late to get into collecting ? Don't know why I didn't years ago. Always been a big reader of science fiction, fantasy, etc. Everything but romantic stuff. Just don't know what to do. And I've got such a addictive personality. I want them all. I can see myself buying books instead of things like food. Sad ain't it ? Just wish I could have met you 40 years ago. Thanks for the videos. I remember Doc Savage books like you do the Burroughs.

Hi, Alvin, this is the dilemma of all collectors, but you can not go wrong if you buy what you like. You can also buy books on books so you have the images and info and it does not cost too much. I hope this helps. I am glad we met now, happy to have you onboard.

The worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs is a great source of fascination to me because he wrote these wonderfully imaginative stories by now over a century ago. Reading Burroughs you begin to understand how legendary writers like Ray Bradbury became so inspired to write their own worlds of fantasy and science fiction themselves. Like Zane Grey, never really a particularly great and literate writer, but a superb story teller. My favorite is the Caspak series and "The Lost Continent". Thanks for sharing and for your enjoyable exposition. Your next assignment is to share every volume of "Silas Marner" with us, ha!

Nice review, but a lot of the covers you've identified as Frazetta's are in fact done by Krenkel. There was a recent art book of Krenkel's published work that makes it easier to recognize his stuff. I have a lot of these also and really admire both artists ! The line art illustrations on the title pages is superb as well. It was like an added treat. I enjoy your videos featuring these vintage paperbacks ! As a collector it's nice to see that others admire them too !
