I'm looking forward to building one of these. Glad it's available as a DIY kit, and that the build guide is so well written.

I just bought one of these, you're making me want a second one already and the first one isn't even built yet

I am adding this to my Eurorack asap....I feel I should buy it since I use the software modules everyday for almost free! Plus it is unique , I cant wait to get it

Hey, nice! There are some interesting things in this one for use with hardware, and more things are coming in the future also so it's a great module to have!

Damn, wish I had found out about this before I setup my current kit, now it's on backorder. I would have skipped a few other modules.

Omri, How does the hardware version of Freak compare to the VCV Rack version? Given that it’s still a digital filter, can it sound any better than the VCV version? I have an ES-9, so I can just run audio from Eurorack into Freak in VCV and then back out to Eurorack. Is there any benefit to having the hardware version? Thanks, Rob

One difference is that the hardware has very low latency (about 300 micro seconds) and it runs by default at 96 kHz. You can run the software through and use you audio card, but if you have to do that ver often, the physical module is much better option.
@OmriCohen-Music4 жыл бұрын
Well, for me, it's just like why I have all of the other modules. I can do everything in vcv but I enjoy much more the combination of both. And also, there's a creativity difference between them. I tend to use hardware differently then modules in vcv. Not better, but differently. And as I always say, why not have both 🙂

@@Vult-DSP Thanks Leonardo. I think you just sold another hardware module.

Great video and very versatile filter! Is this essentially the code from VCV placed into a circuit and then put behind a hardware panel?
@Vult-DSP4 жыл бұрын
Yes. It is the same code. There are a few minor changes but that’s it.
@OmriCohen-Music4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, as Leonardo mentioned, it's the same code but it will run at 96kHz and with less latency.

So... no dual mode on the software version because two buttons cannot be pushed at the same time?
@OmriCohen-Music4 жыл бұрын
Well, as I understood it, it will be way easier to just add another module in vcv than to add this feature.
@anandanamaste28454 жыл бұрын
Yes... of course. Thank you

do you get paid by Leonardo to do this? ... I think you should :D

Sounds like the filter of a free VST plugin that was for some reason ported to hardware. Upside-down world.
