This is why we need you. I don’t understand how these products “work” so well on the TV ads, but this is the reality of how they really work. I’ve learned (the hard way) to always, ALWAYS read the reviews and check out the seller if possible. For some unknown reason, I always believe the freaking ads. One thing I’ve learned- if it’s shipping from China, don’t buy it. I KNEW that soy sauce was going to streak! So bottom line, I’ll keep my corn stalk broom, and my Swiffer wet mop. I ordered a thermometer on Amazon, not realizing it was coming from China - 3 months later, I still didn’t have it so thankfully Amazon credited back my account. It arrived 2 months after that - broken. Another time I didn’t get the merchandise and had to involve PayPal. Now I pay attention to where it’s shipping from - although I recently bought a new iPad. There was no going to the Apple store to get it - it had to be shipped. I ordered it in early July but didn’t get it until early September - it shipped from China! I never would have thought that!

True, except I did see one guy that bought an electronic item that was DOA and he received no response from the seller after weeks of repeated support requests, yet he still gave the product 3 stars! Not kidding. That's like giving a 3-star review to a mugger. I wasn't sure whether to hate or feel sorry for this buyer, so I did both, but wondered exactly what a seller would need to do to deserve less than 3 stars from them. "This toaster burned down my house and the seller kidnapped me and buried me alive after I requested a refund. 2 stars." 1-star and 5-star reviews are mostly by people that have no clue what they're talking about, so it's fine to ignore them.

Is "window cleaner" what idiots call a squeegee?
@Pizzagulper
@Pizzagulper 3 жыл бұрын
Because a real Squeegee costs money to make, and the company is clearly to cheap to do that. I'm sure that would work better, but I still think a traditional broom is a much better idea. That design in general just doesn't work well in circumstances that aren't perfect for them. Kind of like how the cracks between the tiles messed up the whole thing. Brooms work great and don't have that problem.

I have one similar to that one. It's handle is very short, so it kills my back. And I have a very small one room house, so there's not much floor space to sweep. It does pretty good at sweeping up cat hair, but I have tile floors, and it makes that horrible squeak sound when using it. 😖 What I was hoping to find out in this video, is whether or not it's better to wet the squeegee before sweeping, or leave it dry? I've tried both ways, but wasn't sure if I was doing it properly when wet. It left smears on the floor, so im guessing it's better dry. Was just curious to see how you used it.

Same, I have a little brushless vacuum that picks up dirt and pet hair off hard floors way better and easier than a broom...

to be fair even regular brooms leave dirt behind when you lift it to sweep a new area, thats why when you sweep a pile of dirt towards you , you shoukd tap it on the floor next to the dirt pile before u pick it off the floor to sweep a new area

I never gave much thought to the design of a squeegee until this video. Turns out not angling the edge towards the surface makes for a much, much less effective squeegee.

That was my first thought about it lol. I just now saw an ad for it today but I wasn’t so convinced. Ha ha. How flimsy the “finger parts” seem like. I have the furwell also so I guess I’m gonna carry on with that for now. Now I’m thinking of using the shower squeegee for windows tho. Impressive. 😅😅 I don’t mind the lightweight handle but the bottom would need to be more rigid. I like the idea of it being ultra lightweight and shaped like a broom and the size of a broom tho. But looks to me like a cheap broom would do just as good. My single complaint about the furwell is just how awkward it is in tight spots or corners. Well and just the fact that you have to switch to a broom to scoop it all up anyways in the end. But it does a fine job with broader areas and really grabs pet hair quite well. I also wonder how it would do if someone sprayed Pam on it before they cleaned up. 😅😅

This reminds me of how crappy the Swiffer Wet Jet is. It is CONSTANTLY leaving stuff behind for me to clean up with a paper towel/toilet paper later despite using it on a regular basis.

@Richard Forester . I don’t have a Wet Jet but I use the wet mop pads. Frankly, Swiffer does a great job of grabbing the dirt, but the mop pads leave stuff behind as well. When I change the pad, I scoop up what the pad left with the mop pad itself. I have a rotator cuff torn beyond repair, so the Wet Jet is too heavy for me. I really had to struggle with throwing away the mop pads, but my reality is that it’s getting harder to be environmentally conscious since the car accident.

@@deborahjeanne2141 Sorry to hear of your rotator cuff injury Deborah! I had a Wet Jet in my previous house and it worked flawlessly as I recall. The one I have now is cheap, junky plastic that picks up very little and leaves much behind. I have to clean that up with a paper towel, cloth towel or toilet paper. Very disappointed in how this product has evolved. Anyway, lots of luck to you!

@@richard1113 thanks Richard. I guess I’m so used to using the paper towel I don’t even think about it anymore, but it really is extra work. I really liked the Shark steam mop, but it was just too heavy for me. But overall, the quality of everything sucks today. Doors, cupboards, bathroom fixtures, furniture, appliances - the quality was much better back in the 50s. Oh sure, progress has improved many things - we’ve gone from the “icebox” to a fridge that can give you a glass of cold water and automatically gives you ice cubes or crushed ice. Today’s cars can practically drive themselves, and are loaded with options Henry Ford most likely never dreamed were possible, but that’s not the same as quality. I bought my first microwave in 1985. It was simple - no spinning plate inside, no major brand name. It lasted 30 years! I bought a Kenmore to replace it - kenmore has a good reputation, right? It stopped working after 3years. That’s what I’m talking about. My mother still has her GE dryer from 1969. I bought my first dryer in 1978 - I just bought my 3rd dryer 2 years ago -and the enamel is peeling on the drum. Gosh, you’d think I was buying stuff made in China!
