I am disabled and I love my soup bowl. It's a different brand (sistema) but I use it for everything, including salad, cold cereal, chile, noodles, baked potatoes, etc. The lid and handle makes transferring food from one room to the next a breeze without spilling anything or burning yourself. The lid also keeps my food warmer for longer after cooking and it allows me to store/seal leftovers right in the same bowl. I have not had any issues carrying it - in fact the handle makes it much easier for me to carry compared to a normal bowl. It's honestly one of my favorite kitchen items.

Take it from someone who has made this mistake: if your microwaveable lid has a vent, use it. Not using the vent can cause warping from the build up of steam and heat. Lid never fits right after that. Most products don't warn you about that, but it's a risk with all of them.

Great review, James. For fresh corn, cook in the husk for about 2 minutes per ear. Remove from the microwave and cut off the big end. You can cut it first if you like. Comment on the Veg steamer: About a year ago I purchased a microwave dinner that came with a steamer tray, I saved it and have used it successfully for a year now, it holds enough for two. Example: We cook Asparagus in it all the time, and the amount it holds is borderline to much for two people. I would say the Veg Steamer is unnecessary for what it does, just buy yourself a a frozen meal with one in it, and it most likely will be cheaper and function just well if not better. My two cents

He cut open the hot dog and said it seems cooked, but hot dogs are shipped out cooked and ready to eat out of the package. I used to eat one hotdog out the package every time I made hotdogs as a kid and I never got sick because they are already cooked. And the bowl says to open the vent for reheating and steaming, which confused him about what to do with soup. The reason for this is probably because all canned items, including soups, are cooked to the Nth degree which means they are cooked to an edible level. Canned food DOES NOT have to be heated up before consumption but it is definitely preferred for most things. Also, you would not cook soup in this bowl you would heat it up in this bowl. Also it is safe to assume that you should open the vent with any dish you use unless it specifically says not to. If you are heating up a liquid it will create vapor and unless you are using a pressure cooker you want it to release.

@@Midgey By the looks of your profile picture I've been using a microwave since longer than you've been alive and I don't recall ever shattering any glass in it. You still have to put water in it with the food item to help the cooking along and evenly distribute the heat. I use corelle and pyrex dishes mostly.

My trick to clearing grease from my plastic dishes is to rinse in cold water while wiping, after a warm, soapy wash. Works great!! Loving the music at the beginning of the video, BTW. My first thought was dancing to it with you, but if you already have a partner, I humbly apologize. 😅

Oh my.. you crushed my heart and soul into million pieces right at the moment you bashed the ramen into oblivion. And to add salt to the inury you used a fork.. I.. i can't even. That's like shredding spaghetti into tiny bits, cooking it in plain water, draining it loosely, and then adding some salt and eating it with a knife in the end.

@@jeremiahbachmann3901 Agreed. While some plastics may be labeled as microwavable, that may only mean that they won't melt, but who knows what can leach into your food? To be safe, microwave only with glass or ceramics, not these plastic gizmos.

I put a whole ear of corn, with husk and silk, in the microwave. Set for 4 minutes, cook. Using hot pad, bring to cutting board and cut about one inch off stem end. Using hot pad, grab silk end and squeeze. The corn slides out the bottom, cut end. The silk does not stay on the cob. It comes away with the husk. No water to dilute corn flavor. Two ears, 8 minutes. Try it. Even my Norwegian brother-in-law converted to this method. No cost but the corn.

I bought one of the soup bowls and like it very much. I did discover that I can't make oatmeal according to the instructions for microwave oatmeal on the box. It says to use 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 1 cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes and 45 seconds. I've used that procedure for years using an open bowl but in my new soup bowl at about 2 minutes it spewed all over my microwave. The good thing is that now my microwave is the cleanest it has been in years. So I would recommend not using the bowls for anything that might foam up. The bowl works great for soup and for reheating my chicken and rice. Thank you for these tests as I've bought several items that you have suggested and never been disappointed. I'm not disappointed in my soup bowl, I just can't use it for oatmeal.

I have ordered the Rapid Cup Noodle/Soup Bowl after watching your review. It is not a 'need', but I have been using my four cup Pyrex measuring cup for soup. No issue with most foods. It doesn't have a top and if I don't eat all I heated or reheated, I have to put it in another container to store in the fridge. Having a top that fits will and snaps close will make it easy to put it in the fridge. I did want another color besides the red one, but not willing to pay an additional $8.00 for the blue one. Thank you for your reviews. I enjoy them.

I have another manufacturer's soup bowl and use it constantly. Love the lid, it keeps the food inside the bowl and not scattered all over the microwave. And the handle keeps cool enough.

Your channel is so oddly addicting lol. Just a friendly tip though on this product, you were confused on the reheat vent thing. Remember microwaving something that's already cooked isn't additionally cooking it you're just reheating it. rule of thumb if you can eat it directly out of its container without doing anything to it it's already cooked. It may not be the most tasty way to eat it but it is already cooked, thus even though it may be the first time you're heating it it's not the first time it's been heated and cooked. 😉

I have used the soup device for several years and only used it to warm soup. Tried it with ramen and it worked great. Thanks. By the way, I put the lid on with the vent steam facing away from the handle; when i first got it the steam scalded my hand when I took the handle. Pointing it away and no more problems.
