I worked at Disney headquarters in Burbank, CA as a cashier in their commissary. It was a slow time of the afternoon, and we chatted. He was so enthralled that I worked there. Even though I was making $14.50 per hour. He was asking all questions about how cool it must be to meet celebrities, and in my head I was thinking how he has been on SNL, and many movies, and here he is being so cool. Fred is 10/10 nice guy.

yeah, I was wondering because the only potential reference I had was the Mexican side of our awesome, integrated west coast family [very common here, as you & many others aware might know]..but it was our elders' & parents' generation who had more of the close relationships with that specific part of the fam..& in time, we were all scattered & far apart re: locations having to do with college/uni/careers/home locales & more marriages..but because of our family I was thinking: no way Fred gets away with this fun interview sketch, in *THIS day & age. UNLESS* his own family background gives him that proverbial 'card to a certain kind of BBQ,' LoL!!🙋🏾♀ and as much as I've appreciated his amazing work over the many moons of time, I wasn't as aware of the *lion's share* of the catalogue of it, of what he'd been doing for so long, as much as some of my friends were..& not until I decided to look into it a few minutes ago [I knew nothing about his own family background] did I soon learn that he pretty much has a *lifetime-use* BBQ card.🙂👍 as what a surprise & delight, for a lot of it, to discover WHY so much of what little I *DID* know about him made sense! & now I adore him even more,🤗knowing about his own family line history. esp. re: his mom & dad + his paternal grandfather's experiences during his high school time in the 1920's!😯what an astonishing, storied and also tragic history that had to have led his recent ancestors to make some very key & life-changing decisions. I mean, there's well more than enough grist in it for a deep & introspective documentary and/or dramatic movie script!🎥🎬🎞 🤷🏾♀

@@DiandraStarShine I think that's pretty unfair that he has to have blood just to be able to appreciate all the world's languages. He's not appropriating others culture, so I think it's too much of cancel culture mindset to thoroughly search if he is entitled to his art and linguistic skills. As a wpoc, I am aware too that I have a lense on all artist, but I think too this culture of canceling someone because they don't have the "badge" ain't cool. No Latino on this video took it as insulting. Ijs, why can't an artist just be cultured and knowledgeable about his subject without going through a microscope? It's toxic and self victimizing. No white person took his impressions appropriation, and it's less stress on their part not worried about canceling, just enjoying the art.

Fred's mother is Venezuelan and Fred himself speaks perfect Spanish with a Venezuelan accent. He was dead on the spot for all accents except the Colombian one with is characterised by the "S" sound. They insist in pronuncing every single "S" when for us Caribeans the last "S" in a word just does not exist. In the case of us Vewnezuelans the last "S" becomes a "J" like: carroj, vegetalej.
