"fred's revenge.pud"

This is a map made by my son, and... it is insanely bloody & grueling, and honestly might be the most fun I have had in 28 years of playing Warcraft II.
It has a brilliant backstory and everything (Fred is the player's starting peon, a fallen hero in a playthrough of an BTDP expansion orcish campaign level who got crushed when entering a gold mine just as it collapsed**, after tireless yeoman service bravely taking damage repairing towers under gryphon fire, only to here be revived through some arcane magick other than plain necromancy by a mysterious powerful benefactor, restoring him as full flesh and blood, not undead, thus immune to paladins' exorcism; with his destiny to rise from his low rank and tragic fate to become leader of the clan challenged only by Grom Hellscream and a few snobbish supporters refusing to bend the knee to a mere worker) - and it was exhilarating to play.
(**thus the first of the three player rules for the map, Fred himself may never mine gold in deference to his PTSD on that front. The other rules are 2. Fred's right hand death knight, Mr. Deth - and therefore by extension all of his ilk - can never learn any spells except the boilerplate death coil & touch of darkness; and 3. if either Fred or Mr. Deth dies, you have to type in the cheat code "you pitiful worm" to end the session)
I actually hit the recording limit for Microsoft gamebar. 😱 Never even realized it had one (it's two hours, it turns out; this is sped up x4) and was so sucked in that I was probably playing for five to ten minutes without realizing it'd stopped.
Almost two and a half hours of consecutive play start to finish, felt like maybe 25 minutes. All told, between playing and compressing/uploading the videos this is a WCII-centric night keeping me up until 2am - took me right back to 1996.
This was absolutely fantastic, Aiden. A map-making masterpiece. Thank you.
