Mr. Westley, what an artist you are, I was just a boy, raised up on the south side of chicago, who loved to roller skate to soul music and when the JB's came out, it changed so many, many things in our circle, we adapted the way we skated, danced, bopped to your music in collaboration with Mr. Brown and I can only say thank you what a powerfull influence you then and now, thank you for your music and sharing it with us., '' Make it funky '',,.........

Fred was an awesome producer. He produced our hit record, "Love Injection" andI must say, he was a joy to work with in the studio. He'd say; "man I like that bass line you're playing but if you play it my way I'll give you a piece a chicken... and I know you like chicken." Needless to say I played it his way and "Love Injection" was darn near a million selling record on Elektra Records back in '79.

Talk about not ending up with Art Blakey or Count Basie! I can’t help but wonder how his name would have carried had fate lended him otherwise. It may be selfish of me to say but I’m more than satisfied with where the cards landed. I can’t imagine the world of music without his specific influence
