Join me in this video after taking on the challenge to fix @FreddieDobbs Triumph Bonneville T100SE. This motorcycle is the central focal point of his channel and has been right there with him on many adventures from all over Europe to the Sahara, across the Atlas Mountains to the local coffee shop!
Back on the rebuild and yet more parts to clean, in this video we get the intake spigots cleaned up and installed with new O rings and also give the throttle bodies a thorough clean. We also find another issue that was not helping the running of this engine!

I think that the take-home from this weeks video is to never underestimate the importance of cleaning. Often, in the process of cleaning, you're looking more closely at things and can spot something that you'd otherwise miss, like the split in that intake rubber! Good spot, chap! 👍

I have been following this series since the beginning and you've given me the confidence to work on my bike, I got a Haynes manual took my time, and have been doing my own servicing from replacing the fuel filter and carrying out a coolant change to changing the chain & sprockets, things I would have not done previously, quite enjoyed doing it, I've got to know my bike better and probably saved myself a small fortune by not taking it to triumph. next on the list of things to do is checking the valve clearances, big thanks Joe keep up the great work

I really enjoy your videos and it is really good to see that you and Emily have the skills and determination to bring this bike back from its death sentence. You strike the right balance in how far you go to clean the bike up, in my opinion older bikes should show signs of wear and the adventures you have been on with it rather than pristine showroom types. Again great work on this project.

Boy-oh-boy! This is turning into a full restoration! Joe, did you ever think it would be this big a project? God love you for seeing it through. Freddie is going to owe you a *huge* debt (I'm sure literally). And we, your viewers owe you a huge debt of gratitude for taking on this project and seeing it through to the end. I'm sure I speak for all of us in saying that we can't wait to see and hear it run. Question: Will it still say "Riumph" on the tank? I'm kind of hoping it does ;-)

Nice to see the engine back in the frame and torqued up and those throttle bodies have also come up a treat. I have cleaned some twin carbs in the past with an old baking tin, Gunk and an old tooth brush. I have also cleaned some other parts with boiling water and a chemical solution with some good results. The bike looks alot better and as you say I am also looking forward to the start up. Thanks Joe and Emily.

Hi Jo and Emily, I can’t imagine how much this is costing. I had a beautiful yamaha bt1100 shaft drive gorgeous bike. However stood for any length of time lead to rough runner and slow running jet totally blocked. Off with the carbs not a nice job and jelly in the carbs. I changed the slow running jets for larger ones but to no avail. Then I noticed the snorkels( that’s what I call them) were cracking. Google replacements £400 and unavailable. Mine a 2005 decided had to go be someone else’s problem. Some 2nd hand carb assemblies but same age related problems. I so wish I was a skilled as you. I hate it when I attempt a job then suddenly feel scared or out my depth. Years ago I would not touch the brakes on my superbikes of the day then used to doing lots cars I got stuck in and do most my own work but this is rocket science tome. Respect tou Sir and for Emily supporting😅

You should have charged him for all the work that bike needed. I am curious how much the bill would be. At another shop the cost for the repairs would be enormous. I have had my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto for 40 years. In all that time I never did as much work to mine as what you had to do to a much newer bike. My British vintage motorcycles are reliable and dependable transportation. They are rebuidable forever ♾️. Parts availability is excellent.
