Yeah, the Mookie trade still hurts... You should be thanking Freemans ex agent though for Freddie, he had every intention to go back to Atlanta, but his agent screwed him over and didnt tell him about the communication with the Braves. You guys need to be sending gift baskets and chocolate to that guy. At least the braves got Matt Olson to replace him who has 39hr and a 160 OPS+ which is really close to Freddie. While the Red Sox got.... Verdugo.. yayyy. :(

@@adu3830 Honestly, I think Freeman either wanted the Braves to back the Brinks truck up or go home to Southern Cal. I say that because the Braves did offer the guy and all of the AL East was trying to get him too (Tampa had the best offer). His agent did know and communicated to Freeman. The only thing that Freeman may not have known about was his agent’s ultimatum. Alex did what had to do and take another dope first baseman. I’m a Braves guy and this is water under the bridge. I’m glad that Freeman has “moved on” because that shows the professionalism. I didn’t like seeing him distraught like that because he’s a Brave just playing for the Dodgers. It would have been better if Freddie had went to the Angels, since he grew up rooting for them. The sad thing about this is that he’ll end his career with only one ring, right Dodgers fans? 😁 Those Braves will block the the Doyers from winning another chip for the rest of Freddie’s contract.

I love how Mookie recognized early on that Freddie was still kind of emotionally shocked that he was no longer a Brave and needed help adjusting to life in LA. It took me about 4 months to get used to seeing Freddie in a Dodgers uniform, can't imagine how strange it must have felt for him.

Freeman was born in Orange County, CA area which is right next door to Los Angeles. 😂 He grew up in OC and even played college baseball at Cal State Fullerton. Freddie is just a great guy and he embraced Atlanta and loved the Atlanta fans just as much as they loved him. As a Dodgers fan, I just say welcome home Freddie. The LA fans love both Freddie and Mookie. It’s great to see one big happy family. Ohtani and Kelly / Mookie and Freeman. Just hope it all comes together. They deserve a championship but they know they have to earn it. It’s a team and franchise effort.

Long contracts are fine if you are getting the right player for your franchise. Hall of fame or franchise cornerstones type players with the right leadership and personality qualities. That's these two in a nutshell and their expected performance over the lifetime of their contracts in general looks really good. Compare the cost and structures of mookie Betts and Freddie freeman contracts versus the Xander boegarts and Manny Machado contracts on the padres. Your feelings about Manny aside, the cost of the contract for the padres is not the problem, it's the structure. Long contracts that are just dumb I completely understand. Looking at the padres again, the croneneworth contract is a perfect example

Not the player or the price but the payment structure. He is getting paid 17 a season for a few years and by the end when he is late 30s early 40s it will be 39 million a year

It’s Los Angeles. Storylines. During the Braves championship parade Freddie was just very chill and subdued while everyone else was hype. Now he’s mad chatty. 🤷🏾‍♂️ At least the Dodgers replaced a beast in Seager (glad we don’t have to face him anymore) and we replaced a beast in Freeman. Two guys went home and two teams are glad that happened. Braves vs Dodgers part 4 this year.
