Alchemist is god tier. In an era of the single, Alchemist makes full length feature project. COMPLETE projects. They don’t calm him the Alchemist for nothing, he labs up the chemistry between his beats and the rapper. On his work flow, I think I know how he achieves the fluidity you speak of. I’ve heard in interviews that when he does full projects with someone, he usually sends them or gets the rapper in to rap over the general beats then he gets the tracks back with the raps and he adds the extra sauce and transitions. It takes a special person to almost outshine on an Alchemist beat, Freddie is there. Freddie has solidified himself as a god tier emcee. The authenticity, the technicality, the content, it’s all there. He’s introspective and boastful. The features are the cherries on top, a complimentary addition to some heavy heavy work laid down by Freddie. I’m in awe, to be honest. Alchemist is my favorite producer of all time and to see this work and project out of him almost feel like we don’t deserve it. Maybe that’s why he’s in the cusp of underground and mainstream. I can go in about Freddie’s bars for hours but I don’t think no one will care.

Brilliant. I’ve never come across any of your content in the past. You immediately went into respiration’s and I was thinking 🤔 THEN you went on the same Alchemist appreciation tangent that I’ve had. He’s been the foundation of so many great projects for 20+ years now. Like you said; he NEVER misses. It’s clear he produces beats and soundscapes that are custom to the artist he’s working with. Seamless, effortless...just like with Prodigy, countless works with Evidence, serving as Eminem’s DJ. Freddie is clearly awesome. “He passes the rock....(disclaimer) I’m not talking about crack” makes you awesome as well. If there was ever a man where rock needed a satirical clarification; it’s Gangsta Gibbs. I’m glad I found someone who literally dissects songs the same way I do. I really enjoyed hearing you give your “hit pause....WOAH! This shit is CRAZY! ....hit play” process. I did the same thing .2nd 3rd 4th listen. Anyhow, just some unorganized praise on a quality upload about an album we were both surprised by. Difficult to impress when expectations were high before hitting play. Godspeed -Ryan, Portland

This album was straight fuego. Listened to it 4-6x that first morning it dropped. Still on repeat. Man should of been a ball player, can’t miss. Alch and Gibbs 🔊🎣

This album is amazing. Easy 9/10 for me. Album of the year thus far. Alchemist can't miss, and neither can Freddie.

Freddie Gibbs is top 5 imo. He could of held his own with big, jay, and all the greats. Let alone he could do songs with trap artist and still fit perfectly.

Basically what Shawn said about the look at me track is my issue with it, but I still highly enjoy.it and think it's a top 3 Freddie Gibbs album with Piǹata being #1 and Bandana being number 2.

To me the Tyler joint was really good and ty was really smooth on it and I was surprised to hear that side of him on this track. More like his older stuff but watered down in a way that's not as obnoxious. I however feel like he wasn't the right feature for the track because his subject matter just doesn't match Freddie's maybe I'm just saying that because I would have liked a earl feature on this record instead 😂
@yannik36644 жыл бұрын
I think the subject matter he was talking about was meant to be opposite to Freddie. Freddie talks about the hustle and tyler about how he made it, the beat even gets a bit leighter on tlyers part.

@@yannik3664I do notice that. The difference in their energies do complement each other. It’s crazy to find this comment from me 4 years ago because I didn’t even know I was listening to this shit back then lol.
