The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

If Freddie never got sick 🙁 God only knows the beautiful music he would have created. People forget even tho he wasn't diagnosed yet the HIV AIDS virus started affecting his health in the early 80s. Finally! This beautiful version on the official channel! I watched Live Aid the whole day to the point it stressed out my parents a lot. Haha, but no chance, the TV stayed on. A lot of bands sucked big time but Queen and Freddie were flawless this day. It would have been his 73rd birthday today. Still dearly missed. :'(
