Freddie Mercury UK news reports from the day of his death November 25th 1991 the day we learned of the passing of Freddie Mercury. I was up early that day, I put on the early morning TV around 7am and they were discussing Freddie, so I started recording all the news shows from that point onwards.

I remember that day as if it was yesterday. Early waking, and the Dutch news at 7 in the morning had a big photo of Freddie, and without them even starting, I new. And I phone my sister. She knew when her phone rang. Watching these news flashes tear me up again. What an enormous loss, still. And it will be 27 years ago tomorrow.

I was 8 when Freddie died, he was my hero & my mum had to keep me off school because I was truly devastated.

What was the reason that ur Mom kept you off school because from what I remember, teachers particularly in the 80's - early 90s were total assholes and would've said something like " A popstar dying is no excuse for being absent from school unless you were lucky enough that your teacher was a massive Queen fan and was equally as devastated as you were and would've gone down as an unauthorized absents so what did you say?

I still remember the news on tv in Italy, I was 11 years old and I felt in love with Queen and Freddie the day he died! The day after I went to buy the cassette of the Greatest Hits II, there I discovered that queen wrote innuendo and who wants to live forever that I already heard. Then I bought the greatest hits I and I was so happy to discovered that they were the ones who made we are the champions. Then I bought all the albums!

one of the few music genius..the best performer ever..too bad he died before the cocktail keeping people alive with AIDS , he was the one and only one...larger than life..there was no one close to his charismatic. he knew to role the crowd in such professionalism. one of the music losses who left very young..i know that there are millions around the world who would have paid big money to hear and see him one more time...they do not create such unique people any more
