"But thinking young and growing older is no sin." Considering the fact that I'm basically a little girl in a teenager's body, thank you for this wonderful reminder, Freddie. :)

Im liking this version by Freddy. Oh how I wish we could rewind and go back the older we get the more we reflect in life time is never enough but is a precious moment.

My favorite solo song of his... although that's probably because it was the only he ever did during the early years.
@jifrpreston9 жыл бұрын
I don't see all the issues as to what name he was going by at the time. This version is on the "Queen: Preordained" album and includes other Pre-Queen recordings of all the band, including Brian's band Smile, and a glimpse of what would eventually become Brighton Rock (solo). How about we just sit back, enjoy, appreciate that he existed, and appreciate more that we are still here while he is not.

I love it. The sweetest way and only, at least one that makes a lot of sense. Oh, damn forgive me. This man had to have all those ways of connecting with all he sang. Because, there's a whole lot of truth and feeling in his voice.

Goin' back Freddie Mercury The Solo Collection (2000) Goin' back Goin' back Возвращаюсь I think I'm going back Похоже, я возвращаюсь To the things I learned so well in my youth I think I'm returning to Those days when I was young enough to know the truth Now there are no games To only pass the time Проводить время в играх, No more colouring books Не осталось книжек-раскрасок, No Christmas bells to chime But thinking young and growing older is no sin And I can't play the game of life to win I can recall a time Я вспоминаю время, When I wasn't ashamed to reach out to a friend And now I think I've got A lot more than just my toys to lend Now there's more to do Than watch my sailboat glide And every day can be И каждый день можно My magic carpet ride Взлететь на волшебном ковре-самолёте. And I can play hide and seek with my fears And live my days instead of counting my years Then everyone debates О том, что по-настоящему реально, The true reality Разгораются дебаты, I'd rather see the world The way it used to be A little bit of freedom's all we lack So catch me if you can Так поймайте меня, если сможете, I'm going back Я возвращаюсь. Авторы: Gerry Goffin, Carole King. Две песни в исполнении Фредди («I can hear music» и «Goin' back») были изданы под псевдонимом Larry Lurex в начале лета 1973 года, незадолго до выпуска первого сингла группы Queen.

no this was recorded in 1973, he was freddie mercury by then. he hasnt been farrokh bulsara since his teen years. he became freddie bulsara then eventually freddie mercury. queen had their first album out by then so he was freddie mercury, so the title is correct. it is freddie mercury with the name of larry lurex

Freddy is singing "I CAN'T play the game of life to win" whereas in the original song by Gerry Goffin and as performed by the Byrds this line was "I CAN play the game of life to win". A big difference and to me the original seems better. Having a child-like mind means that you have enough positivity and maybe naivety to feel that you can win the game of life, not the feeling that it is all pointless and that you are a loser.
@ThatDIYlifeAnastasia285 жыл бұрын
I was trying to wrap my mind around that ‘cause I liked “can” more, and couldn’t hear if he is singing it that way. I want it on a t-shirt so I will probably use a more positive version as it matches the song more!

The artist is NOT Freddie Mercury, it's LARRY LUREX- a name spun from Gary Glitter and an artist consisting of: Freddie Mercury, Brian May & Roger Taylor!

AngieMusic folks like you and I know that , but consider this ; Someone discovers the lifelong joy and wonder of not just Freddie but Queen as well and wants to hear everything they can get their hands on. They're simply not going to be aware of Larry, thus missing out on a beautiful song. So this channel operator clumps it in with Freddie and or Queen and bam!
