Hi Sophia--I'd say it's because (despite being immensely talented, almost beyond belief, super handsome, amazingly creative, and quite sexy,) Freddie had broken bits like all humans. We all hope we measure up and want to hide the parts we think don't. And, God bless him, he grew up with a sexual identity challenge in the midst of some of the worst times for LGBTQ folks. (For instance, in 1969, it was still against the law for gay men to dance as a couple.) I have also read that within his family's faith anyone who was homosexual wasn't just "sinning", but rather the person was thought to be a demon. That may not be accurate, but it was what I read in a seemingly reliable source. (Sorry , I forgot which now, but I promise I am not making it up.) I think all these things would easily go together to make major inroads into any person's confidence. All that being said--I TOTALLY agree with you--I LOVE listening to and watching Freddie play--the blur of his hands in Seven Seas of Rhye makes me smile every time.
@Nina-oi1qk5 жыл бұрын
@@wailelealoha yes, Freddie was quite insecure in many ways like most people.
@wailelealoha5 жыл бұрын
@@Nina-oi1qk Absolutely--just always more eye opening when it is someone so incredibly gifted and well-known. We forget sometimes that those folks are just as human as we are and subjected to so much scrutiny. God bless him. By the way Nina,--have you seen the movie PRIDE--it is very heart touching. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a heart for humanity and who feel a tenderness to the LGBTQ community and how they have persevered in the face of hardship. As for PRIDE, it is streaming now on Amazon Prime and available for home rental on Netflix. Have a great day!
