Happy Birthday, Freddie. (9/4/46). Their voices matched so heavenly in the whole album. Exercises in Free Love is all Freddie, a must. Freddie wasn’t a trained vocalist either. He just sang and sang because he loved it and other artists growing up, I think he absorbed a lot from earlier greats and that’s how he learned, love of music, talent, and adoration of others. Can’t wait for all these reactions!, I have the CD, incredible.

One thing that characterizes Freddie is the honesty in every interview with him. IMO, he is smart and has no doubts about what he feels. The presence of a sense of humor is also noteworthy. I know of Montserrat Caballe from her work with Vangelis, on his album _El Greco,_ "Movement IV". Vangelis put her operatic voice to very good use. He himself sounded like a full orchestra but it was all done on synthesizers, piano and orchestral percussion.

Hi Justin! I'm thrilled to hear your reactions to this album. One of the major reasons that Freddie worried about their voices matching was that they had very little actual time together when it came to recording this song (and later, the album). Montsy's opera schedule was packed full year round. Freddie said in an interview that she thought it was possible for her to just fly in for a day and record the song. In opera, everything is so regulated and the same that she did not need hours of rehearsal. This was a new medium for her and a nervewracking labor of love for him.

I know many people are not into classical or Opera. I personally love it especially classical. Freddie was trained in classical piano, so a lot of the music he wrote had classical elements, so you were getting classical music with Freddie's songs whether you realized it or not 😊. Freddie is so bizarrely humble (they both are actually)… regarding the way he just casually mentions that - when writing for Montsey - he was singing the really HIGH parts he’d written for her voice, to see how they’d sound.

Thanks Thomas for your request. Freddie was in a huge fan of Montserrat . This album was re released years later with a full orchestra. At the time of release people didn't know what to make of it . Certainly different. Thought's go out to Sir Brian may after his health scare recently.
