I think that Freddie made this when he was living across in Munich, Germany for a while. It's probably where he also recorded Living On My Own, which actually faired a bit better in the UK charts in particular the Radio Mix version.

Freddie Mercury always had an incredibly powerful voice, but he's was also so clear in his pronouciation of his words. I have always loved this song Love Kills, and the 12" (extended) version is by far the best. I believe that Freddie had worked in partnership with the Italian synthesizer genius Gorgio Moroder (previously worked with Phil Oakey of the Human League on the track Together in Electric Dreams) Love Kills was always a very Freddie Mercury type of song because he loved the disco type of music - a lot like Radio Gaga etc.

Freddie Mercury always had very good attention to detail in his songwriting and performances. This is something that I particularly noticed when Queen had got together with David Bowie to perform Under Pressure and you see all the wee extra bits that Freddie has included but it all goes together so well to make a really fantastic performance and a truely great song. I am not just measuring the song itself, but all the wee noises he makes in between. There will never really be another Freddie Mercury, he's so missed. RIP Freddie Mercury.🙏😭🥰

Freddie made Love Kills with Gorgio Moroder the Italian producer who has also worked with Philip Oakey on Electric Dreams. Moroder slightly annoyed Freddie by asking him to sing more than he was used to doing and I don't Freddie was amused.

Awesome reaction! I love the fact that you are not just reacting to the best known songs, you do a great job! Check out the remastered version of Love Kills, it is slightly smoother. You have an awesome a pretty unique voice yourself. Freddie was really exceptional of putting himself into the songs, and doing any kind of genre of music. He could change the colour and tone of his voice a lot, to suit different types of music, or to express emotion within a song. He had fantastic expression in his voice, he knew exactly when to sing aggressively or softly. Here are some interesting examples you might want to check out from a singing perspective: Seaside Rendezvous - Queen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWfRonqplKmprdU (This is a Vaudeville/ Music Hall song, British performers sometimes like to do Vaudeville. The bridge section of this song is not real musical instruments, it is Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor mimicking trumpets, horns and even a kazoo with their voices). Son & Daughter with Modern Times Rock 'n Roll (bonus) Queen live at the Rainbow 1974: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJfIgpymfd1mjsk (This is proto heavy metal) The Golden Boy - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe at La Nit 1988: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYHMq6yGad1mZqs (This song is a mixture between opera and gospel) My Melancholy Blues - Queen live in Houston 1977: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmXPq4R5p9CVmrM (This is a jazz song) Princes Of The Universe - Queen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHataZ-meLaVr9k (Pure hard rock) Rock In Rio Blues - Queen live in Rio 1985: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWjWf4F_rdacqqM (Every night Queen performed during the 80's they did a jazz impromptu, they did something different every night, so there are a few popular ones. This is one one of those popular jazzy impromptus. ) You Take My Breath Away - Queen live at Hyde Park 1976: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3Oln5huh5tprtE (This is a very soft and delicate ballad.) White Queen - Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGnYpIGgad1shKM (Progressive rock, this is haunting and ethereal, with fantastic musicianship). You're So Squire/ Hello Mary Lou/ Tutti Fruiti - Queen live at Wembley 1986: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqCUq3pnqaZ7pLs (Elvis and Little Richard covers, this rockabilly style.)

🥰 thanks for the nice compliment! Let me just say you're an all-star 🤩 i ❤ recommendations, especially with links. I wish everyone did what you just did 😎😄. And yes! Its the expression in his voice that I am loving! Even in one line he can have many expressions. Thanks again for the recommendations I'll get to them soon 😍

I also think that Giorgio Moroder was a bit of a whizz went it came to the synthesizers and just generally producing good electronic music.

Taken from the Earth too soon. So much more great music he would have made otherwise. RIP Freddie
