Guys let me give you some background on the band and this song. Freddie Mercury is the lead vocalist and plays piano and guitar. He has a 4 octave vocal range. He is considered by many to be the best frontman and singer ever. He got a diploma in graphic design and designed the band’s logo. Sir Dr Brian May is the lead guitarist and vocalist. He also plays keyboards and harp. He has a PhD in Astrophysics and has an IQ north of 180. He was knighted 2 years ago. He and his father made his guitar when he was 16 out of things around the house. The neck was hand carved from a 100 year old fireplace mantle, the body from an oak table, the tremolo bar from bicycle parts and his mother’s knitting needle. His guitar has a very unique sound you won’t find with anyone else and 60 years later he is still using it. It is called The Red Special. Roger Taylor is the drummer, vocalist and also plays guitar. He went to school to become a dentist but got bored and got a degree in Biology. He has a 3 and a half octave vocal range and a very high falsetto earning him the nickname, the dog whistle. He is considered by some to be one of the top 10 rock drummers ever. John Deacon is the bassist and also plays double bass, piano/keyboards and drums. He graduated with high honors in engineering. He made an amp called the Deacy Amp out of a speaker cabinet and parts he found in the trash. He gave the amp to Brian which enables Brian’s guitar to make different instrumental and orchestral sounds. Every member of the band wrote at least 1 number one hit and all were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bohemian Rhapsody is considered by many to be the greatest rock and roll song ever and their video for it revolutionized the way music videos were made and used, paving the way for the inception of tv channels like MTV. Queen are 4 equal members of one of the best bands of all time.

4 octaves for Freddy's vocal range is a little too much. Something like "he was reliably able to hit notes from the booming low of F#2 to the high pitch G5 - that covers a full three octaves" is more accurate. His voice was amazing and well used in each song, I love it, but one thing that makes a good singer is that never push their limits while singing live. Freddy did it even in the studio and that makes his performances more human, more warmth. Trivia: Prince is ranked as the third male rock singer in vocal range with 5 octaves and 3 semitones.

This is a silly "rule". The point of reactions is to get reactions. If they pick up on something during a solo and want to pause it that's fine. Let people take in the music organically, not by some "rule".
@deb844224 күн бұрын
When you listen to a piece of music, that IS the experience it. To interrupt the flow of a piece interrupts the experience as a whole. All ya gotta do is wait until our experience is complete and say what you want the second it's over. Brian is a master class musician. It's kind of disrespectful to his amazing talent and skill. Would you appreciate going to a major musical event and be happy if someone stopped the show in the middle of a beautiful section to give a comment? Or would you want them to wait a minute until it's done? No one wants you NOT to comment. We just want to enjoy the experience for that minute with all comments welcomed the second he's done with his solo. Simple!

NEVER cut off a video before it ends! You talked over the soft ending that brings this amazing classic song together, then cut off the very end and missed out. Use "reaction etiquette" by stopping the song to make your comments (and satisfy You Tube rules by stopping at least twice per song so they won't take it down), then BACK UP A FEW SECONDS to start it again so it flows better for your first time hearing, and for us viewers. If you posted a video that didn't have a song title, no one would click on your video, right? Always remember: people ONLY click on a reaction video for a song they love, so they don't want you to talk OVER it, and they don't want you to cut off the ending. And, as someone down below said, listen to the song with headphones, for your own enjoyment, so YOU get the full effect of the song! (You haven't REALLY heard this song until you listen with headphones! When they do that operatic part, the sound goes from ear to ear back and forth.) And, put your video at full volume when you make it, so people can turn it down to their comfort level-- remember that rockers who grew up with this music LIKE IT LOUD. Just some helpful notes for you guys to keep in mind. I liked your reactions, and I'll watch more of your videos in the future to see if you took these suggestions to heart.... and then I'll subscribe and like.
@sarablack2547Ай бұрын

Not bad suggestions, but NEVER speak to people like this -- you can be emphatic about your opinion without sounding like a PUSHY jerk! And to top it off, you'll watch more of their videos, and THEN you'll subscribe and like, if they do what you tell them to do? LOL....okay....

Guys, welcome to "ROCK OPERA!" Rock + Opera. Bohemian Rhapsody was written by Freddie Mercury, beginning to end, lyrics + music...everything! You probably saw the movie, "Waynes World" starring Mike Myers. When they're in the car rocking out with their heads bobbing, they were listening to THIS song! That's why the middle section sounded familiar to you. It's one of Queen's best and most successful songs, ever.
@rubydazzler21 күн бұрын
it's a rhapsody ... A musical rhapsody is a work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality with an air of spontaneous and exciting inspiration and emotion and a sense of improvisation. And this is surely one, it's a cappella, a ballad, an opera and a crazy rocker!

Led to MTV being created to fill the need when other bands realized they could ,make “promotional videos” (what they used to have until this, in 1975). History in the making. There’s A LOT of greatness to react to from Queen, and anlso any of their solo, stuff, 3 of the 4 members have that, too. Take a deep dive, you’ll love it. And it’s great to see the ever generation loving music from the 1970s and 1980s, even some from the 1990s. It was the greatest time for music. Even the 1960s…when Rock. Really took hold. Enjoy!,

This was 1975 so 10 years before Live Aid. I love this song and have for (nearly) 50 years. This was the first video ever produced as a promotion for a song. The song was charting and Queen was going out on tour so they produced this video in 3 days so that it could be used while they were in another country. At that time, the only way to really promote music in the UK was on a show called Top Of The Pops and they would feature the band who had the #1 song in studio every week on their show. This song stayed at #1 for 9 weeks so they reluctantly had to show this video instead of having the band in their studio. You really do need to listen to this again with headphones. The panning and the ambient sounds are outstanding. It becomes a roller coaster ride for your ears.

This song grows on most people. It’s definitely an experience. Props to you both for exploring music outside your own genre. Your generation doesn’t know how good they have it. Great music ages like a fine wine. Drink up!

*** You guys really need to react to the Greenday Concert at Wembley Stadium where the crowd sings Bohemian Rhapsody word for word before the concert even starts and without any prompting.

There is a reason this song is a rhapsody. The music starts slow and builds up and speaks with the emotion of the story

Queen is legendary. So good to see you are experiencing the magnificence of this band which did not lip sync. Have social media. And were just being themselves and made incredible music that lives on and on and on…….

The only song that always brings a tear to my eye. When Freddie died, I had returned from the army and the war zone in the former Yugoslavia a few weeks before. I loved Queen so much back then that I took a mix tape of old Queen songs from the early 70s with me and brought it home. Freddie's death remained in my memory connected with the death of the country in which I was born.

"I thought they were a rock band" lol! Hang on guys, you're in for a wild ride if keep going down the Queen rabbit hole. And you absolutely need headphones to fully appreciate their music. Great reaction, thanks!

When my son's church group graduated they asked the choir to sing this song at their church service. It was done and everyone loved it.

These guys were geniuses. All had college degrees, Brian the guitarist has been knighted by the King of England, and is a doctor of astrophysics. So he is Sir doctor Brian May

I love that you boys remember small facts like the guitarists Sir Brian May being an astrophysicist and working for Nasa, he's 77 and worked for Nasa as late as 2023 as far as I know, he's obsessed with badgers too and works too with wild animal protection. I loved your reaction, this song is crazy, nothing you hear today. This must have been filmed in the 70s, the fashion was very different, though they are wearing stage costumes. Many had long, big hair too. These 4 guys where crazy intelligent and musically talanted and wrote many hits together. 3 of them where very good singers too, of course Freddie had one of the greatest voices ever.

amazing when you reflect back on how much they tried not to give this song any airtime during the release, They thought it was way too long for radio, how wrong they were. This is timeless...
