I saw Freddy at a Fair in central CA in the seventies when I was a teenager. I remember how sincere and what a great performance he gave. The audience loved him and he came back for not one, not two, but three encores. After the second encore the band had left, the lights were on, the stagehands were starting to remove cords but the crowd would not stop clapping, whistling and demanding more. After like 5 minutes of this he came back out! I always remembered this song because of this..

I love Freddy Fender’s music! I was born in late ‘79 and when I was little we had an 8 track player in our family station wagon and only 2 8 tracks that I remember. This was one of them. Me, my Mom, Dad, and older brother and sister listened to it all the time. When I was really young I thought it was a woman singing. ☺️ I loved the voice and music. I learned more about Freddy later on and just love his music and what heart he put into his songs. We feel it too Freddy! I had the lyrics memorized and still know them and every note today. I looked this up tonight after I was singing it this evening and I sent it to an ex boyfriend who’s been wishy washy wanting to get back together. He probably thinks I’m nuts and doesn’t know Freddy, but he’s missing out. 😁 I sent it to my brother too and he replied right away that it is a great classic! Such good memories in these songs. I love reading the comments. ♥️

Guitar-synthesizer solos -- whether true MIDI guitar synths or guitars hooked up to synths via envelope followers -- are rare in country & western, and especially in Tejano music.

The 1975 re-recording was a synthesizer solo, probably a Moog or ARP. If you listen to the original, that solo starts at 1:42. I now believe this solo is a guitar hooked up to a synthesizer, like what Danny Kortchmar played for the two solos on Don Henley's "Sunset Grill."

How come, u2 support today Selena Quintanillas story stands as the cornerstone foundation of the present day Human Rights/Anti-Human trafficking, forced career, and Social Justice movements in a technologically advanced society. The modern day entertainment industry in particular the music industry as well as various communication and communications media have also been largely founded by those present involved in the production of these events which stand as a most severe matter. We see here in every instance the forced nature of the career of every female artist as well as others on hand in the most physically intrusive manners; who appear in this tejano so called racially commercialized and community destroying endeavour. Which has effectively silenced the voices of entire communities and the human rights movement as a whole. This behavior has continued till present day, simultaneously we see those personally accountable for what truly is a human catastrophe for all society as a whole and brazenly promotes complicity to an already at risk population. The abusive tactics used to intimidate persons vulnerable like Selena Quintanilla highlights the need for immediate societal education. Education on forced relationships, which clearly begets the norm here, and crime free atmospheres which are needed in an advanced tech society faced with long term accountability. Even one such instance resembling what we see here such as that of Ariana Grande has been globally lambasted for offensive volatility, why is this still being allowed in global silence here. Do good to be, question id imposition
