Ah the good ole days. I am a retired US Army officer and Vietnam vet so that tells you how old I am. My oldest daughter introduced me to Freddy Fender and I have loved it since. I am married to a Spanish speaking woman and I will intro it to her.
You sound so sweet! ❤ Thank you so much, kind Soul, for being there for your Country. I wasn't conceived yet, but I still feel a Soldier's devotion & grateful for the ones that made it back Home (U. S.A.) where you belong. 😊❤

FREDDY FENDER came to Anchorage Alaska in the mid 70s. A vivid treasured memory. I was just 11 years old, my first concert. Mr. FENDER wore a purple suit, he also wore nice smelling cologne. His concert was so good we saw him a second time, that night. Freddy gave me a hug, and i smelled like him and we listened to his songs on 8 track all the way home. Thank You Mr FENDER!!! :D

Met Freddy Fender at Rockwood Park Ontario Canada after his concert. I was 7 and he had gone into his trailer after the show. Everyone was crowded around the door of the trailer waiting for him to come out I being 7 had wandered away to chase after a squirrel and see where it was going I ended up behind the trailer at a tree when I looked up he was looking out the window at me he opened the window and asked me my name I told him who I was and that my mom was his biggest fan and that we had come all the way from ajax just to see him he told me to come around to the front of the trailer and had his bodyguard escort my mother myself and my youngest sister into the trailer to meet him he was an absolute gentleman gave us autographs and had his picture taken with my mother when she passed away in 1988 that picture was buried with her my memories of her happiness that day will be buried with me someday.
