What a fantastic interview. Saw him at a horror a convention in 2011. They had the entire cast from all the Nightmare movies there and the line for his table was out the door the entire time.

Robert Englund is just amazing. He also guest starred in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited where he voiced Felix Faust and battled the Justice League. I think Englund was integral with helping Hamill get the role of Luke Skywalker for the Star Wars Saga. He also voiced The Riddler in the underrated The Batman. He is just a chameleon when it comes playing any characters. The stories your guest stars share are the best. I can listen 24/7.

Really cool guy. I saw him multiple times walking with his dog on Bluebird Canyon Rd in Laguna Beach back in the 90s. First time I was driving with my younger sister and as usual on a warm day, I had the windows down and being a loud speaker, I pointed at him as I told my sister "Look this is Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm Street movies" he must have heard me as he looked up, smiled and waved. Naturally, we were both ecstatic...

My favorite description of Freddy Krueger came from Wes Craven: "Freddy Krueger is the bastard father of us all." I think Robert once described him as someone who shoves teen culture back down their throats.

That's pretty accurate if Rob said that which I think he did as well. Freddy doesn't give a fuck what time period or current culture people happen to be in, if one of his victims are heavily into some sort of cultural practice/hobby that they love, Freddy will flip that on their head just to fuck with them and manipulate their reality. Turning even the most loved aspects of one's perspective into a nightmare.

Robert Englund is a super awesome dude, got to meet him at comic con! After hearing all this I'm kind of angry at myself that I just saw him only as Freddy. He's a real big part of my childhood memories because my brother would drag his 6 yr old brother to the movies and he'd sneak us into Nightmare on Elm Street WITHOUT telling me first and fuck was I traumatized lol. Also, made me fall in love with all the horror slasher films though going up.

I’m a Valley girl and pretty much a lifelong fan of Robert Englund. I had no idea he grew up in the San Fernando Valley/LA County where I was born and raised. The first ‘Nightmare’ movie I saw in a theater was part 4 and I remember being the youngest one in that crowded theater in Encino that Friday night so many years ago… I grew up on Freddy Krueger, which was like a really bizarre form of therapy for a kid like me that went through some very bad things. I’m in Orange County now and I still have not met Robert Englund. Meeting him is definitely on my bucket list. I never tire of hearing his stories. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in listening to his stories, I forget that he played Freddy Krueger! I loved his ‘Phantom of The Opera’. In fact, I recently loaned it to my brother and he lost it, so he just bought me a new copy of it! I only just found out about Robert’s work before NOES, so I will be making a point to watch those older films and V! Looking forward to it. I’m about 2 years late here, but thanks for having Robert on the show. I love him. I love the story of him and his wife too! I love that they’re still together. I’m sure they both have so many great stories! Long live Robert Englund. There will never be another like him and he was the best and only Freddy as far as most of us fans are concerned. 🌹

Englund is such a great conversationalist. He’s so good at telling stories. Could listen to him forever. Plus he’s a super nice gentleman. I met him at Fanexpo in Toronto in 2014 and he took the time to talk with me. I actually asked him about his classical acting training and his stage work. I think he really appreciated me asking this and took the time to tell me some stories from those days. Fascinating person.

I met Robert at a convention in Providence, RI back in 2017. He signed my VHS copy of Dream Warriors, as well as a rare promo VHS rental Dream Warriors poster released as a video store only item. Then shortly after, had my pic taken with him, which I have framed. One of the highlights of my life. He’s an excellent human. Huge Freddy fan, obviously.

“V” was required watching at our house when it first aired. The miniseries was BIG in my home country of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷! My cousins and I were all just sweet on Mr. England’s character, Willie, he was so endearing! 🥰 Still at my 48 years of age, I remember this role… and how incredibly messed up my mind was seeing him as the nefarious Freddy Kruger years later 😜 (I wasn’t allowed to watch Nightmare films until I was a teen)!
