He's a serial killer, but he never ever leaves camp because it's his home. (As for Jason X, well tbf, he got captured and taken into a facility far from home and is in Cryosleep for decades, perhaps Centuries. His massacre on board the Grendel ship is reasonable because he assumed the entire crew dragged him farther away from Home, which would make him go on a Murder spree. The Uber Jason scenes are where he goes completely out of character. But then again he got blown up by the Android and left to rot. And if you get resurrected into a Power Ranger and not to mention can't return home anymore, you'd definitely be so pissed it can't even describe your anger. You just kill because that's all you can do.)

I never heard anything about a sequel but this did so poorly at the box office, I'm not exactly shocked they haven't messed with the idea of one. It would be a real bitch to write something that follows this movie where one of the villains dies. Simply because we've been shown in both sets of movies that they're immortal. Killing Freddy off would likely be seen in poor taste or just dumb - we lost Craven just a couple years ago, Englund is getting up there and we're expecting another NOES. Dunno what to call it - a remake of a remake? Forget the 2010 version because it was awful? IDK what to call it, I just know Hollywood is out of ideas and beating the legendary films down. I think a Freddy/Myers script would work and a Chucky/Jason script could work but killing the icons off after years of seeing that they are immortal - that would be some tough writing...

For the Jason fans, maybe something like a prequel could work. Explain how he got to Crystal Lake, go more in depth with his mother, explain why he's silent and so on. I still like this movie, but the part at 3:30 still annoys me. Jason might’ve drowned when he was a kid, but he *never* was afraid of water before or after becoming a zombie. The closest we got to that would’ve been at the end of Jason Takes Manhattan where he basically just had an “oh shit” moment before that toxic wave hit him. I don’t mind that they wanted to do a fire vs water thing, but I’d rather it had just been Freddy tossing him in a lake after his first attempts didn’t work since he said at the start that he sought Jason out specifically. But it doesn't kill him at this point, which would be considered an advantage for Jason. (But then again, Freddy was slashing him down severely because he has nothing else around him to use against Jason besides his own Machete, not to mention no longer in the dream world where he's the most powerful. So, the Docks is where they're pretty much evenly matched.)

Notice how Jason isn't afraid of water in the real world, I always kinda took it as: because in the first scene, they were fighting in Jason's mind (I.e. His psyche) it affected him so intensely because Jason has a very deep-seated fear of water (but more to a subconscious rather than active degree) thus, in his mind (where he is ultimately still a child) he was extremely fearful of water, and in the real world, channels that fear by using it as a weapon of fear against people he attempts to kill. Almost as a sort of defense mechanism Orrrrrr, it's just plot-induced-stupidity and I'm giving the movie WAY too much credit. I dunno, I like my idea better :P

It’s interesting to see their different forms of combat meet. Freddy seems too used to having his dreams powers giving him step up in the playing field, hence why he tends to stick to blitz attacks that target vital areas in the real world. He also seems too used to terrified teenagers, less experience going up against trained combatants. Jason on the other hand relies on a combination of brute strength, improvised weaponry, and guerilla tactics in order to dispatch his victims. He also seems to be used to defensive combat, judging by the way he does block and counter with his machete. Keep in mind, a handful, though by not any means all, of Jason’s victims were trained combatants in their own ways, be it police officers, federal agents, a talented boxer, as well as criminals. So Jason does have that working in his favor, that he has gone toe to toe with opponents with combat training. If you count the comics, military trained mercenaries could be counted amongst his body count.

This movie was like the grand finale of not just Freddy and Jason but the whole teen slasher genre as a whole. I know there were more after this but this felt like the last original one.
