I remember that I was so excited to see this movie. To get ready for opening day, I watched all the Nightmare on Elm Street films. Woman vs film. It was approx 14 hours straight. I stayed up until I saw Freddy vs. Jason. Sleep deprived and a little delirious, I still enjoyed Freddy vs Jason. Don't know if I could do that again. Thanks for your review.

Thank you Jay for going to bat for my guy Jason Vorhees. Jason had more kills in this film and he came out of this fight with his entire body, holding Freddy's head in one hand and his machete in the other. The only reason this even looked like a close match up is because the writers took major liberties with Jason and Freddy's characters. Making Freddy have combat abilities, making Jason afraid of water, and having Freddy in his supernatural state during the real world. And even after all of that, Jason walked out in victory.

Jason totally won he was the last one standing... After sinking to the bottom of the lake he only needed a day or two to recover and then the next morning he was refreshed and he found Freddy's head in the lake and just went about his normal day.

Personally, I always thought that in the end, when Freddy winks it was in a dream, but not that Jason never woke up. I always thought that Jason dos wake up, and Freddy did get fucked up, but then when they're both 'dead', since they're both supernatural, they were sort of an afterlife in the dream world. Anyway, I love this movie with a passion, I have seen it such a ridiculous amount of times; in my opinion, you guys were right on with this one, it's pretty much as good as they could make it, and I absolutely love it for what it is.

Imo Freddy gets killed physically but once he's killed he just goes back to the dream world anyway, so you can't kill him you can only defeat him by forgetting about him. No one really won the death match but Freddy kicked Jason's ass more so I say Freddy wins because he landed more punches so to speak. He won like Mayweather wins lol by TECHNICAL knockout.

i liked the movie but what i think happened was that since it isn’t the 80s or 90s, the era that loved and respected horror movies, they still had to please all audiences that came to see action(which would explain the dramatic tosses and hits). but i do think if they really took the time and tried to make it a great and sense making movie, then it would’ve been a 10/10

I'm sure the writers of "FvJ" didn't pick on this little nugget from the first "Nightmare" film. Nancy says "Isn't there a pill or something to keep me from dreaming" and the doctor says "If you don't dream... you go...." I know it's all fiction, but still... I do love "Freddy V Jason" for what it is, but it's definitely Crystal Lake on Elm Street with no real character development, it didn't really feel like a "Nightmare" movie to me. The chick that played Lori was also in the remake for "Night of the Demons" with EDWARD FUCKING FURLONG and she was also in the couple episodes of "Entourage" as E's SEXY girlfriend, both of those roles, she was a lot better than this.

I saw this movie at the midnight release showing in a completely full theater. Some fans were even in costume. I normally prefer an empty theater when I go to the movies but I have to say, Freddy vs. Jason was easily the most fun I've had at a movie in my entire life. Is it a great movie? No of course not, but neither are half of the movies in these respective franchises. It delivered what it needed to and I enjoyed the ride.

I like Freddy vs. Jason. Bad acting and dialogue, but the fight was awesome! I like how the fight took place in both the dream world and real life, giving the killers advantages in their respective worlds. I'm not the biggest fan of the ending, the tie. I would like to have a definitive winner. I'm a big Freddy fan, so I think he won the fight. Jason went down before the fight ended, leaving Lori to decapitate Freddy. As far as characters, I liked Freddy, Jason, Mark, Freeburg (the stoner), and Deputy Stubbs. The biggest issue I had with the movie is that time and geography doesn't make sense. The majority of the movie takes place in Springwood, Ohio. The end takes place in Camp Crystal Lake. According to the movies, Crystal Lake is somewhere in New Jersey, and in Jason Takes Manhattan, it leads directly to the Atlantic Ocean. How did the kids get Jason to Crystal Lake overnight? It takes over 8 hours to get from Ohio to New Jersey, and it's already the middle of the night before the drive. It should be daytime when they get to Crystal Lake. And also they would need to stop for gas at some point. Does this bother anyone else or is it just me?
