Thanks for posting this info. Jerusalem is the most spiritual place on Earth. I've had the unique privilege to live there for 4 years, and every day of these were amongst the best of my life

Really interesting exploration, i had usually dismissed the words amongst the flag waving, but the concept of Albion and spirituality of our land offering the chance of a beautiful society turns the words away from the nationalism and warmongering and to an older home and an older spirit in our feet and hearts.

I am new to this hymn and I am having the pleasure of memorising it. I have been singing it among a vast majority of Welsh choristers. They need no lyrics. They already know it by heart. I find its music very moving, pleasant and inspirational. However, I don't share the same view as many others who have praised the meaning of it, on the internet. I tend to read the poem as a metaphore for the overtaking of land, subjugation of people and dismissal of the native faith. This process being executed through the evocation of strong symbolism of power and the interminable journey of individuals determined to establish themselves through creed, greed, obstinance and dominance. Nonetheless, thank for your analysis and for the many recommendations and citations. I will look deeper into this subject. For the time being, let me memorise this lovely 'carmen'.

William Blake was once asked what do you think about Jesus and he responded I am Jesus and so are you The GOD within him would we came up and he would have to start writing with his wife by his side amazing 21st-century English man with his art and literature for a man who never step foot in a school and his most important literature are locked away in a safe in Harvard university. We must know that imagination is everything. Many blessings to your channel.

“He is the only God. And so am I and so are you”. Thanks for your wonderful comment. I couldn’t agree more. The imagination is everything, as we think so we live. Best. Paul.
