Go to an RC hobby shop and get a small 2 or 4 stroke engine. They work off of glow plugs and a kind of diesel fuel because they are actually diesel engines. .80 cc I think. They have them shown in youtube. There isnt an engine that hasnt been available to the public. Even turbojet engines. (Your neighbors will love you for that). Just gotta know what you want and where to look.

i wanted a wilesco steam traktor starting when i was 8 years old. at age 50 at breakfast one saturday saw an ad in the news paper for a sale at a toy store. for some reason i don't recall, my wife and i got into a loud argument, i got in my old dodge, drove to the store and spent more than a half week of pay to buy that wonderful toy. 74 years old now and i still play with the tractor. it felt great to relieve that yearning. i've picked up 3 more since then. JUST GO GET ONE.

My grandfather had a big daddy version of this that ran on paraffin and had a ratchet handle to start it. His farm had no mains electric and water was drawn up by a wind pump (ATCO type). The engine was used to run the milking machine twice a day and sometimes a bale conveyor for hay and straw bale storage. He ran it and the water pump until he retired in 1960. Considering it was bought in about 1935 I think it payed for its self.

I may be wrong but it appears to be a four stroke engine and. It does oil the cylinder from the drip tube at the base of the cylinder but two stroke oil is still a good idea
@pepethefrog7193Ай бұрын
It is 4 stroke. Speciality is the pressure controlled intake valve with no pushrod. Those hit-miss are more efficient than throttled engines at part load. There is no throttle to restrict airflow, they always run full compression.
@eldoradoboyАй бұрын
@@pepethefrog7193 arent theyt taking on fuel and exhausting it unburned during the off strokes or is the intke valve spring loaded where it wont open and allow airfuel in?

I have always wanted to build a triple expansion steam engine model, but I have to admit that hit and miss engine is pretty nice, a lot cheaper, and no machining required. There is no cast iron in these. The flywheels come in two variations: One is solid cast steel flywheels, the other is cast aluminum centers with steel rims. There is no cast iron in these engines. The body is cast aluminum with a steel cylinder wall and one or two rubber o-ring piston rings (again, 2 piston designs). This is a delightful engine and one of the best looking Chinese made hit and miss engines that runs very well.

My toy is the Sichuan Sifa MB168F diesel engine on Amazon. The smallest one with the offset filler cap on the red diesel tank. It's not really a toy. Just well cared and the shaft adapted to 1 inch. I cranked in the restrictor bolt. I don't want it running anywhere near 3000 RPM. I stick to pump diesel and 15W40 oil. Watch the oil level and mount it on plate aluminum not steel.
@campingstovemanАй бұрын
A nice engine but a couple of points, what you have there is a four stroke, two strokes don't have an inlet valve or an exhaust valve, You don't need to add two stroke as the oiler on the cylinder block is there to lubricate the pistons.

Brother, just because this is an ``engine`` doesn`t mean that it wants engine oil... Int. comb. engines use pressurized, filtered oil systems, the oil used in them is designed for that system... A little clonker like this has no filters, has no pressurized injection, it runs on gravity and viscous friction that cycles the oil with component revolutions or strokes... This would much prefer a hydraulic oil or any other wear-reduction oil that is wholly free of detergents of any sort... Wear red. additives are fine, but also need to be checked, as material compatibility is still imperative when oiling a running system... Lubricants are not universal nor should they ever be used as such... Tolerances and all system clearances are designed to revolve around and allow a specific oil to do the job of lubrication flawlessly or the thing just breaks apart, you can`t run any oil just because it appears to be of adequate viscosity... The two stroke oil is a perfect advice, hell, that shit is a good advice on modern car engines, both petrol and diesel as a fuel additive, especially the additive rich 2stroke oils that help clean the engine and the exhaust, as otherwise you risk dpf/cat/whatever other component potentially getting caked up with soot, which the cleaning oil actually helps remove, so it`s even better than just adding those ``injector cleaners`` or what not to the fuel, as those drop the lubricating properties of both diesel and petrol, which is not great for the cylinders, where the 2stroke oil is great for the whole system, as long as it is designed to help clean the engine and the related systems... (also does wonders for the fuel pump, again - both petrol and diesel) Best regards! Steuss
