One thing that most of them leave out when they tell you to grab the wrist of a hand holding a knife is that unless you are acclimated to that kind of stress your hand will most likely be sweating profusely and it is hard to grip the wrist like that because it can slip down and cut your hand open and then he will go for vitals. Try having a training partner hold a razor sharp double edged blade to your throat and watch how quickly your hand sweats if you are not used to it. That is when he is your friend and you know he won’t hurt you on purpose. Imagine dealing with a murderer in a dark parking lot. Once the technique is practiced a few times live blade training under the supervision of a qualified instructor is an absolute must!
