FYI, all haters out there; the kid is 12 yrs old. He started playing the guitar at the age of 7, the blues when he was 9. His greatest desire is to go to Texas to see the SRV statue. (From the Norwegian into) In a world of computer generated crap music, we should appaloud talent like this!

@imjustsomeguy728 жыл бұрын
He's got hella chops for sure, and he sings it well enough as well, but he overplays the whole thing. Save the fast runs for the build later on, and whet our appetites early on with some smoother slower licks. The greatest musicianship is not just technical skill, but dynamic feel. You've got a full 3-4 minute to play with, so why not use it? But plenty more years ahead of him, he'll do fine.
@beaudesign18 жыл бұрын
+imjustsomeguy72 The Kind of "Dynamic Feel" that you mention does not come to children no matter how talented they are. Feel comes from life experience. He will indeed get there, if he has a good support group to keep him from going off the deep end too early.
@floyd71078 жыл бұрын
Well tbh, SRV style is an "overplaying" style, real aggressive , and i've listened to SRV too many times to count, and this kid nailed the smooth slower licks and i believe got that niche SRV accelerate/deceleration flow really really close, like no other..... i wish he was still around
@icedragonlm7 жыл бұрын
Floyd 710 2:37 SRV never did that..that's way over played even by Stevie Ray's nasty playing style..he's not bad, at all. He's really good. But he did try to shred over Texas Flood..wtf

Apart from the fact that the kid was 12 at the time...why bash someone for playing the Blues? Wouldn't you rather have kids doing their best to play Blues instead of listening to new Little Waynes and Justin Biebers? Give the kid some credit for f***s sake!

I first listened to him just over a year ago...and I still can't get enough of his Texas Flood. Phenomenal! I think he might be Yngwie Malmsteen and Bonnie Raitt's love child. Beautiful kid with otherworldly skills. Sure, he throws in some shredding, but that's what makes the song HIS version.
