😂 Yeah, you have to be living in America and have 4 grandparents from the same country that's on their list. Hopefully you'll qualify for their next study.

Yeah, I'll "cross my fingers" that they need some subjects of Namibian ancestry in the future haha.. Come to think of it, I wouldn't have been eligible after all, even if I were American, as one of my grandparents (my maternal grandfather) was born in Angola, whilst the rest were born in Namibia (This is mainly due to the borders set at the Berlin Conference in 1884-85)

Unfortunately, the majority of Haiti's population are descendants of Africans that were taken away from their original homes. 23andMe is working on getting test subjects from places where most of the population aren't from somewhere else. Sorry. I wish I was able to get my test free as well.

Hi Barb, Autosomal DNA tests gives you your full results using both AncestryDNA & 23andMe. 23andMe's haplogroup test (which is an extra test that AncestryDNA does not provide) provides the migration story of each customer's maternal line. Males are fortunate to receive both paternal & maternal haplogroup results, while females only receive their maternal haplogroup results.
