Ptolemaic? Surprising actually knowing who the ptolemaics were. And a 'lost tribes of israel' test literally makes 0 sense. There's quite literally no physical history of those ppl from the bible.

I’ve taken Ancestry DNA and found out my ethnicity estimate is mostly African (96-98% African with only 2% European DNA) and I purchased 23andMe to see if my results are similar and trace my paternal haplogroup back to Africa. I took the African Ancestry MatriClan test and found out my maternal haplogroup is L2a1, which is Tuareg in Mali 🇲🇱 and looking to do the PatriClan test as a follow up.

Congratulations on getting your results and that your maternal lineage is Guinea-Bissau 🇬🇼 and Sierra Leone 🇸🇱! I was inspired after watching this video and other people who took the African Ancestry test and I did the test and currently awaiting results for my mom’s side of the family.

I will be taking the PatriClan test so I can trace my father’s lineage back to Africa after getting my results back from Ancestry DNA that confirms that I’m mostly 90-96% African.

these tests are so expensive, and they give you cheap because they are stealing your genetics information to target selling drugs or etc. it's all benefits the drug companies not you. Do not do that

They own your DNA! You sign it away before test one! Hmmm. So in the future if I wanna do “something” exclusive with my DNA, am I going to get an injunction from their lawyers? Claiming ownership of my genes? That’s the part that stopped me.

Not sure this test is reliable. Try mytrueancestry or G25/illustrative DNA (Even way better). But this one isn't popular. Even Chanoch (Jewish customer of this site), said he has 14 and 15% of connection with some of these "Ptolemaic" Egyptians ... I don't think it's a good idea for using this test.

You should tell UNESCO that they made a mistake in their book History of Africa. In it They said that the founders of ancient Egypt are indigenous Black Africans

@americanjulamaghan7359 There is no such thing as black. It's a lable made in the USA. Even black Egyptian refuse to be called back, not because they don't see that their skin is back but because they don't share the same mentality, the slave mentality with inferiority complexe. Egyptians were Africans, no doubt, but they weren't West Africans, not even east African. They were mostly West Asian mixed with a little nilotic from Sudan's Numid period and migration.

23&Me is by far the worst. Ancestry is by far the best. I've taken 7 DNA tests, and my tree is currently ~33,000 people with 350 DNA matches linked so far.

I learned that when you subscribe to Ancestry services, be careful if you are lured in by a “discount” I fell for a 50% off discount They told me awhile back when I cancelled subscription, maybe 2 yrs ago, that if I ever signed back on that I would get it at 50% off At the time the operator said half off any subscription for life and gif life if subscription When I called to restart subscription, they said they saw it on my account I also ordered a DNA kit online -maybe A few days later. I thought I’d ordered the kit, but when hadn’t received I went to check I saw I had the full charge for the subscription! I had to dispute this though both my card and ancestry (and get upset !) I also inquired on my kit tracing Ended up they sent to an old address even though my payment had address changed and I had updated my account. Had I not specifically asked what address, email, and name was on my account, they would have had a mismatch in their system and a second kit would’ve gone to the wrong address as well Be cautious I did get my monthly subscription refunded and cancelled I did receive my kit, activated and sent Hoping no issues with results I will look into 23& me

Very good point about the features. I met an Indian man years ago who told me I have East African ancestry which I laughed at the time until I did 23andMe and that test confirmed that my paternal ancestry has ties to Sudan and possible historic Upper Egypt. So the Indian man knew what he was seeing/saying.

Maybe I am boring. I just did both at same time.. The way I look at it all over the world different people will be choosing differently and if you go with only one service than you may be losing a connection... Just make it easier for your connections to find you.. Then there is different features you get to play with.. When your playing with searches you will get tired and want to pick it up some other time. In respects for ancestry. Don't over think the price for subscription in terms of it being forever. Just stop the subscription and later on pick it back up. Also give time for others to connect and add new information... Do not just let it drain your bank account.
