🤗🤗🤗 this was so exciting to watch. I got the 23andme from your very first comparison video and LOVEDDDDD My results . I got the updated test 🙌🏾 my parents are both from StVincent and it showed that my dna mainly reside in SVG, Trini, Barbados, Guyana ... and low and behold I was 16% Portuguese 44.7 Nigerian and 31 Ghanaian !! Girl I’m so happy you saw the update 🥰 🇻🇨 23andme is the best . Okay I’m done now lol ☺️

Wow! That's not uncommon. I think once you're past 4th cousins, you'll be fine. By the time you get to 4th cousin, you'll probably have only 0.34% DNA in common. Thanks for sharing! 🤗

Excellent results! youre one of the only results that have practically some of the same African breakdown to mine very similar to mines n my sisters results, Esp the Senegambian/Guinean Sierra Leonians Senegalese and Nigerians, but it makes sense im Honduran with a lot of Cayman Island ancestors and a lot of my ancestos were from St Vincent that ended up in Honduras some now known as Garifunas..oh my 🖐😊..this is so exciting!!!

@Alison Ryce, have you tried uploading your raw data to GEDmatch and other sites? I´ve done two tests as of now, one with DNA Tribes and one with FamilyTree DNA. Ftdna was the only service that gave me the raw data, so I uploaded it to My Heritage DNA. I got a few hits there, which was cool, but I haven´t contacted them or anything like that though.

Another video on the tribes from Africa in the Atlantic trade said most Benin Togo went Trini Grenada and Hati. The word Benin if you say it sound like Hati and Zo sound like Togo

Super interesting video!! Very in depth! I got my results recently too and it's such a fun tool. Another thing you can do when you read the different reports is look at the map and it will give you exact locations they found your ancestry. Like the top 10 regions if you have that many. I'm sure you saw that, just thought I'd mention it for anyone reading this. If you want to go even more in depth you can take the raw data from 23andme and upload to sites like GEDMATCH. Nice videos i'm thinking of doing this, my parents are from St Lucia and Guyana via Barbados - fathers father. Did you get these results just from providing your DNA or did you have to provide any DNA from your parents? i was thinking of doing the African ancestory, but 23andme and Ancestry DNA seem to provide enough of the information i want initially from looking at your other videos. Hey! Yeah, I have no idea how i'm going to respond, so I like to wait and look at my results when the camera is on. 😂 I've been working on my family tree for 10 years now. Here's a tip: start from the oldest family member. Ask them lots of questions about their grandparents and record them (video or audio). That way when they unfortunately pass away, your family's history won't disappear. Thanks for watching & reaching out! 😊

I’m also from Trinidad born us but both parents are Trini. Your tree look like mine too except I was 15% British don’t understand the Scandinavian gene that showed up in me though cause I never hear about Scandinavian culture in the carribean or Trinidad??

Clay Clyne The Scandinavian could be from the England ancestor who may have inherited it thru their invasion from the Vikings and some was passed down to you.

Alison Ryce You are welcome and I am glad that it at least did something good for you. But they changed my results drastically to the point that confused me. I thought it was only me, but I saw so many other customers complain about how misleading it became for them. They just said that it will continue to change which makes me wonder how accurate it is. I even wonder if they just look at our names and surnames and made guesses. Did you read about the 3 identical triplets that did this test with this same company but all got different results? They were disappointed as they are identical which means they have the same exact DNA but yet got different results. They did not bother to explain much when asked about it. The only good thing about these updates is that they are free.

@@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj Even if they´re identical triplets I think there´s still a chance that their "percentages" might be different. Genetics is a pretty advanced field of study. I did a dna test with Ftdna, and to my surprise I got a match with my older sister, the surprise being that I didn´t know that she had taken the test herself, so that was kind of cool to see that there´s a substantial accuracy in the test. We also have to remember that the companies use the same methods as they use when they need to use DNA to confirm the identity of victims/perpetrators of accidents/crimes etc, so we can´t just pick and choose when these tests are accurate/inaccurate.
