The haircut salon is not involved in my story, it's the guys who brought me to the shop, and the guy who cut my hair.
After the breakfast you saw in the previous video, we go to explore Lakkis farm, and I embark on a tractor to plant seeds of wheat. After that, I go to the barber for a free haircut paid by the 400 dollars my hosts took in my bags. Finally, I visit the wonderful roman ruins of Baalbek.

@Dinah U.S.A. The platform, of which the temple now stands, predates the temple. The ruins can either be Roman (about 2000 years old), or about 5000 years old which predates the Roman and pushes them back to the late Bronze Age. They can't be 5000 years old and Roman !!

@@trespire Baalbek was inhabited over 9,000 years ago. Major construction in Baalbeck first began under the Phoenicians between three and four thousands years ago. It was them who erected an enormous temple to the Phoenician sky god, Baal. The Greeks then added to it followed by the Romans, Byzantine, and then the Arabs (637 AD). The Roman construction was built on top of earlier ruins most probably the Phoenicians built the fondations. Yes, they did find ruins from the Bronze age.

Dude you need to review your history. The earliest Roman civilisation goes back to around 600BC. That's about 2600 years, not 5000 years. The site of Baalbek may have been occupied 5000 years ago, but not by the Romans.

To be honest, having seen all videos with these guys now, I'm still puzzled about what actually was their intention. I totally agree that there were many red flags and don't doubt at all that someone from this community did steal money in the night and damaged the bike. I sure would've fled the scene after the discovery too. Well, actually after the first coffee, since that situation really had a very shady vibe to it, even before the guy with the shades arrived. Yet I still can't believe they would do all these nice things that followed just to set up a later robbery of the remaining valuables. Even if they were looking for an opportunity to do it outside of the view of their parents and wifes, this seemed way too much of an effort with far too much information handed out by them. Really wondering what the purpose of damaging the bike was too.
@felixfox8810
@felixfox8810 Жыл бұрын
@@AYYSIR I guess the definition of "red flag" is very subjective, so I won't argue about that. As for the theory that someone who doesn't belong to this community would follow them and sneak into that house at night, I think that is far-fetched. This is Baalbek after all and these guys didn't look like they would tolerate such an act, at all. According to many lebanese commenters, even people from around there feel intimidated by the bad reputation of this specific area. But again: I can't shake the feeling that the "official theory" (hope you know what I mean by that) is doing that community as a whole some injustice. Overall I find it simply sad, how it all went wrong for a few dollars.

I hope that you still had some money that they did not find to be able to continue your journey.

Yeah, I still had some money, and I had the good surprise that in Beirut, one ATM was actually giving USD, so I could withdraw money. And regarding who robbed me, honestly, I am pretty convinced it's the guys who hosted me and who were always with me. Most of the other guys were working during the day, no kid could sabotage my bike the way it was done, and after I escaped, when I told them I was robbed, some of the other guys were shocked and asked me if I was fine, and were saying that they have to find who did that, while the guy who hosted me was on the defensive side, and just telling me "I need to see you, where are you? Where are you?"...

Its truly upsetting seeing a place free with no police and rules can take advantage of other people whether they are tourists or not, rather than using this freedom in a positive way and showing that humans can live and be kind to one another whether police exist or not. But clearly some people really meant to show you hospitality and some just took advantage of the situation.

Nice haircut. In Serbia, if someone cheat you on the street, in restaurant, anywhere... we say "He/She done a haircut to you". My friend is a World Traveler as well, but she is more fancy traveler. Visited more then 100 countries, visiting historical places, she's been in Bacchus as well, of course... Going expensive hotels. Rented a jeep with her colleague and driver, stuck in the mud somewhere in Somalia, if i remember, then some guys with AK-47 on arms came, push the jeep from the mud and ask them for transport to the next village. All of them (5-6) seat on the back of jeep and check their bags. Fortunately they found and eat just all of the snacks they found. For her it is a huge problem, as she is not eating anything except in the hotel :D Funny, and not so funny. Take care.

@KinoYves
@KinoYves 11 ай бұрын

I am more convinced they are a Roma community. Older males staying with parents is Indian tradition and since the Roma are from India they stick to those Indian traditions. Unfortunately the Roma do not have a good reputation all over Europe and now in the US. They seem to do well with having land and farm equipment etc. It could be anyone from their community as the bike was in an area that was accessible to a lot of people.
