I actually enjoyed your freestyle solo's. I think it lets you add your own style or spin to a song. And lets remember that this is a game and people mod things all the time. I understand that it's not practical when playing someone else's song but it lets a player be creative IF they choose because its optional.

You get it from the RB3 export. If you go to the music store then scroll to the bottom, you'll see exports. Go there and if you ever played RB3, you'll be able to buy the export pack for $15 which includes all 83 RB3 songs!

michael88h These are freestyle solos. They are an alternate way to play solos and allow you to essentially make your solos! They're pretty fun when you understand them. They're optional too. You can play solos the standard way as well.

Basically, with freestyle solos, you can play them anyway you want. However, to get the best musical effect (and the most points) of freestyle solos, there are some guidelines. While the highway is blue, play notes with buttons from the far end of the neck; while orange, play with the solo buttons. If the highway has both colors, use either set of buttons. The frequency of lines indicates how fast to play; 1:19 - 1:33 best demonstrates the different frequencies. The lines close together requires fast strumming, the spaced out lines use slower strumming, and long bars are held notes. At 5:47 - 5:54, I think you just tap the solo buttons. I'm not sure...

The only way to get the songs is if you played RB3. Playing and unlocking a couple of achievements should be enough. If you don't have a 360, I've seen people on the forums and Reddit offer others to play RB3 on their accounts so they can get the songs but that can be sketchy cuz, ya'know, Internet.

I was in the same situation as you. All I had to do was buy the game, contact Harmonix support, then they will ask for you to send a picture of the game disc, export code, and your gamer tag written down on paper. After this, they will send you a code to directly enter into your Xbox one. Export is 15 dollars :) I promise this works

i feel like losing the combo is worth it for a great solo. I do think its kind of dumb that it is possible to lose your combo in the solos though, thats a big swing and a miss. "here, have a part where you can leave your mark and make each song unique, but do it our way, or you suffer"
