Auto Rig Pro vs AccuRIG ? I work with ARP to be able to use the UE Rig already integrated in ARP for some of my human 3d figures. Which tool is much more "accurate" at auto rigging human figures? I don't know! We will see. I try AccRIG this WE and have Fun!

Honestly, i can't believe how much developer space is... developing, right in front of our eyes. I'm working with basically everything in digital creation space, and not that long ago i seriously had to schedule time just for finding and testing out different software. I feel like really soon there would be no such thing as "production standart", because this space grows so fast, it's likely that a bunch of new, made by motivated developers software would form a better workflow than a couple products from a big companies. Can't even imagine how much easier it would be to create something digitally in 10 years. This is the reason metaverse will be a thing. Because there will be no barriers between a human imagination and a ready-for-use creations, it's insane. Hope i'll be ready for it

This is awesome. I am going back and doing a lot of re-work on my game, "Defend Your Buttress". I had used Mixamo, and their auto-rigging/animation were kind of a garbled mess. Hopefully I will have better luck with this. This time around though, I am doing my own animations. I just need the auto-rigging.

With your skills and content deployment, all you need is where the crowd is. prime example, currently I've been working on a workflow with Stable diffusion(locally setup), unreal engine5, blender, and icon on hugging face. with the 4090 card you have (awesome by the way) create a video using that and 100k, three weeks easy. i seen channels do 30k subscribers joined in days.

This looks really useful and effective. Would it work for a character with clothing as separate elements? In other words parts like gloves that lay over the arms but not welded to the main body?

great video actually u have my respect bro but I think u forgot to show us the part where u had to export it before uploading it to the actor core, u cut straight to the file after being exported at first so i got a little bit lost cause it then failed to import the animation but thank u so much for making it super easy u really gave me high hopes for my future work man :)

They getting this thing where it's almost anyone can rig or animate, the thing i'm truly waiting for is if and when they figure out Water dynamics within unreal like splash's and ocean spray if you will like a boat on stormy waters and be able to render that within the engine, im betting maybe 5 years out they will, they're awesome, for now we have Houdini for that

I have been digitizing some action figures and statues with photogrammetry. Unfortunately they are usually in some "dramatic" pose rather than an A or T pose. Something like the pose of the character on the splash page of your video. Arms and knees bent, head turned...etc. How well does this auto rigger work if the character isn't in an A or T pose to start? Or if the character doesn't have fingers? The Mixamo auto-rigger doesn't handle this so well! Thanks for covering this!

@@Jsfilmz Heh. Iclone8 is $600 + another $400 for CC4. Free trial means in a month I won't be able to add any more characters. Thanks for the suggestion, just doesn't work with the budget right now.

The thing That would REALLY sell this for me would be the ability to map bone name Profiles for UE5/UE4, Before exporting. SO I could Import the mesh and pick the original default manny skeleton without any retargeting . Testing this out, I feel the viewport lacks the option to view a wireframe overlay to really nail joint placement in denser loop areas on things like finger joints the all white chalk mat it not helpfull with that

Amazing vid as always! Quick Question though do you know if the rig is compatible with the UE animations? I tried making to give the rig the UE skeleton when importing and later apply the animation in the sequencer but the rig doesn't move or do anything.

Pretty good. But what about CC4 characters? My CC4 character is already fully rigged. But can't seem to be able to figure out how to get actorcore animations work with them as the rig is different once again. To me the whole workflow seems to be designed to make everyone buy iClone.

Thanks, I have rigged one of my custom characters with accurig (mixamo had failed to rig it) but when I export it in unreal 5, the names of the bones and their hierarchy seems to be totaly differents. And I don’t know how to retarget it, in some tutorial the retargeting is made by using the ”humanoid skeleton” option in the skeleton tree for matching the differents rigs each other. But I didn’t know how to do what. If on day you make a tutorial about it, I’ll be very interested ! (I apologies for my confusing english, I’m french).

There are some issues with this solution though. It doesn't rig eyes. It also strips off any morph targets (blend shapes) from the model.

I haven't tried this for ue but it sucks for Motionbuilder... for some reason the lower spine is all off after characterizing.

Everybody talking about how this is better than Mixamo and yet it's literally the same thing but you get less access to animations (unless you pay money), this one is more likely to screw up fingers, shoulders, clavicle ~ automatically, Has an "export to... UE, Unity, Etc" but doesn't remap bones to exported native format... How is this "for unreal engine 5" (description) or in any way better than Mixamo?

What would make this even better is if it could be exported into Maya and come with an animatable control rig (inside of Maya) so poor people like me who don't have access to mocap tech could still animate to the character instead of a generic avatar and deal with retargeting.

Use a Maya HIK rig, or even advanced skeleton plug-in for Maya which is free, and has CC preset for import

UE5 retargeting is pretty easy once you've done it a few times...

@@NickRomick UE5 retargeting is not precise though, especially if you need to have any kind of precise prop interaction (say for a cinematic, or even for gameplay animations) you're going to need to adjust the animation to the character, And that's when the skeletons are 100% compatible, for example if you try to Retarget a UE5 Skeleton anim to the UE4 one many things (even using the default settings made by EPIC) will be broken, especially fingers (this is due to different joint orientations and metacarpal joints) so yeah you can get it working but for any kind of very precise work, it's best to animate to the character.

@@7_of_1 Yeah but that involves animating with HIK and, well, I hate it lol Advanced Skeleton is decent-ish but has some very buggy features when it comes to Game-Engine animations, for example AS forces you to work in Y-Up instead of Z-Up (which is better when dealing with Unreal) but also there's some really bad issues with twist-joints and other stuff that goes on which makes it so that the animation looks 1-way in Maya but when you bring it to Unreal it's completely broken

i try accurig using chracter from sketchfab but when process is done the result mesh is white (having no skin just white) ..(tryed many char and same result) ..no colors no skin ... why might that bE?

I wonder if it will stay free. I guess the only downside is working with another armature system. Otherwise its fantastic.

🚫Spoiler ALERT : This is Another Mess. Like Mixamo... "This is not supported UE4 & UE5 Skeleton... Means it will not support UE4 & UE5 Skeleton Animations you have to find special animations for this or animate on own" Self Tested. I'm Custom Rigger. But this can be alternative to mixamo, only for autorigging. Mixamo is large library of animations also...

Is there a way to rig it to unreal skeleton with AccuRIG? With AccuRIG skeleton there is no way to proper retarget unreal animations. For example, even in a hand here is a 5+ different bones in this skeleton, when Unreal Skeleton have 3 bones in an arm

Just tried it out looks great but its only for none ue5 characters and it will not rig clothes. What's really odd for being ue5 is the top of the line game engine they fall flat when it comes to rigging clothes for said ue5 characters. Seen 100s of videos on cloth? Really how many people make flags. So this is great and you did a great video but next video can you add to you title you are also using blender. Can of hard to nail down when doing a youtube search on rigging clothes and finding you have to use third party software to help ue5.
