Hey Cammy, it is so sweet of you to help this single mom. I am sure life gets overwhelming when you are trying to take care of your kids and work at the same time. I wonder if she is the type of person who likes to see everything? Maybe you could organize her back stock in the cabinets but keep all of the items she uses daily out on the counter? You did such a great job! As always enjoy your videos and your positive demeanor! You always inspire me!💖

Aww thank you so much Joy!!! I’m all done at her house now, but I’m sure you’re right. She needs to see it out to know she has it. But I think now that she knows where everything is, she may stop buying so much? I’m hoping so anyway. I’m sure she will probably change things around maybe to be able see her daily use items eventually. At least she can have these videos for inspo if it gets out of hand again.

I hope this lady was able to get her bathroom leak fixed. ❤

Yes she did but now she’s waiting for the homeowners insurance check to pay to get the floor fixed now that she can have the contractors come over since the house is clean ❤️

Hey Cammy! Thank goodness for you, coming to help this single mom. Life can be so overwhelming at times. She deserves a chance to get her life organized and go forward from there. She is probably a butterfly and feels things out of sight, is out of mind 😘 Once things are clean and organized, I bet she will be able to keep up a little better. Not perfect maybe, but better. 😊 Blessings to you and to the single mom. ❤❤❤

My partner and daughter both have ADHD and he has to have everything he uses in the bathroom out on the counter and open shelving (only backstock is in his drawer) and my daughter has a floating shelf for all the toiletries that she uses. Laundry is also a real issue. They are both visual organizers and have trouble using a dresser. My daughter just put labels on her drawers and my partner totally got rid of his and just uses an old record display stand to hold his clothes in plain sight. The woman you were helping seems to have pretty severe ADHD. When my daughter lived on her own, her apartment got in a similar state. Without me there to help keep it under control, her closet became just one big mound of clothing on the floor. Conventional organization systems probably won't work for your client either. Hopefully, she'll be able to go through and declutter a large percentage of those clothes because there's no hope of managing all that!

Wow that’s such good information. I so appreciate you and everyone else who has commented. I think maybe some shelves would be the perfect solution for her! That and extreme downsizing. Thank you so much!!!

This woman who Cammy is cleaning for does care. She took care of the maintenance clean of the toilet. She should not clean up before having an Organizer come to her house. The professional needs to see the reality of how the person is living. That’s how they assess and plan. That is how change can start. Some people have autism and don’t know it. There are 12-15 more conditions like that and fall under the term neurodiversity. Even an ADHD diagnosis could cause a person to live this way. Their brain is moving too fast for the body to consistently catch up. Professional organizers are needed. They are not just ‘nice to have’ or for wealthy people only. I wish everyone knew that. ❤

It looks like untreated ADHD to me. I’m so thankful you can help her. Clear bins with labels, maybe baskets instead of hangers - when I was a teacher, my students would rather stuff an accordion folder than put stuff in the correct divided folder. Try convincing her to get rid of about 50 % of her stuff, the purge is so freeing and stress relieving.
@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
She got rid of 4 suburban loads of stuff over the course of 13 videos since I’ve been helping her but I fear she replaces it all when she sees she has more room. Yes, she does have ADHD. I will tell her about the clear bins. That makes so much sense about the accordion folders as opposed to the divided folders. She needs a clear dresser maybe? I did buy some large bins instead of bags for her clothes so we shall see.

I wonder if for some folks standard built in storage is alien. So maybe labeling the cabinet doors and attaching the associated hardware in baggies and storing in the shed is the be route. Open cabinets everywhere?! Think of the open shelving in the Friends show. I use a note on my phone ot keep track of stuff I repurchase so I don't buy it unless I have it showing as needed. I am very much on a budget so I check that note regularly to make sure I don't over buy anything. I don't store anything under sinks unless it is set up for being water damaged. So no paper towels bath towels, toilet paper, cardboard, or rags go under there but closed glass and plastic containers can. I also use a boot tray to hold these things since it will protect the floor of the cabinet, too in event of a leak.

Yea, open shelving seems to be the consensus for her. I wonder if she’d like all her cupboard doors being off? It’s pretty simple to do and easy to put back on. Personally it would look overwhelming to me. I’d have to decant everything in order to be ok with it. I LOVE your idea about the boot tray under the sink. That is BRILLIANT!

She might be a Bee or Butterfly - some kind of visual type of person

I’m thinking the same thing! ❤️❤️

@@CammyHell Clutterbug has great videos for how to organize different areas of a house for each style of organizer. Butterfly is the easiest to maintain and then if this Mom wants to get more detailed afterwards, like a Bee, then it's not as difficult as starting from the beginning. I'm a Butterfly that tries to Bee when I have the wavelength 😁

@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
She was overjoyed with this gift so I’m hoping she can learn from the experience. Also, with a neurodivergent brain, sometimes we don’t have the ability to change so easily. I just want to give her some peace, albeit temporary
@sharronschornagel27143 ай бұрын
she may need someone to put the clothes away it may not be something she can do. It's hard to understand but their minds just don't get it. maybe baskets for the bath room storage so she can take them out and will learn to put it away.. great job done cleaning.
@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
Thank you! 😊 I put some like items in baskets, like the hair items, the shaving items, and the makeup. Oh and her jewelry I put in the cute pink box on the counter. I agree she needs a dresser to put the clothes away. I worry they will just always sit in those boxes. Hopefully she will get rid of some of them. With a smaller inventory I think she will be able to manage.

This looks like a house I’m familiar with and the person has ADD. Do you know if this Mom does? People with this diagnosis usually don’t like drawers or cabinets because they need to see everything. Even if it’s in piles on the floor, they feel like if it’s not there in front of them they will forget it.
@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
YES!!!!! That, as well as depression, anxiety, and chronic back pain, not to mention a 4-year-old. 😂

I can't stand things on the floor either
@kathyepperson76893 ай бұрын
I think this mom needs shelves instead of drawers to find things by sight. Even in the closet with nothing hung I believe she would be better off with shelves. I really don't think she will change and use cuboards. You need to ask her about shelves.
@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
Yes I’m almost positive you’re right about that. I will totally let her know that this is what everyone is saying. Thank you so much! I think it’s an ADHD thing.

There are a lot of reasons how things can get so disorganized. I don’t think it’s a choice. Mental illnesses, such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety, not to mention physical ailments can be debilitating.
@tueywladavis35023 ай бұрын
You are wasting your time. This person doesn't care about her surroundings and never will. Any body to not use the drawers and closets and let you waste your time folding all those clothes doesn't respect you or your time and help. I would be out of that place so fast my head would spin.
@CammyHell3 ай бұрын
I love to do this, so she’s actually helping me ❤️❤️❤️ Also, If I can give her some peace (even if for a week) and a fresh start, no matter if it’s short-lived, then I didn’t waste my time. Sometimes people (especially neurodivergent ones) get paralyzed for lack of a better term and don’t have the best organizational skills. Hopefully these videos can help her see how I did it and she will be able to use them as a tool. This far, she has kept it up I’m told and it’s been several weeks now.
