I live about 45 minutes away and have dug those for many years . I use a small amount of mineral oil with a little paint brush to coat the crystals so they'll maintain the wet look , or higher clarity .

If I’m not mistaken, @thecrystalcollector said you’re supposed to fill in your holes. As you can see by your opening part of the video, a lot of people don’t bother. I could be wrong, but some people can be so lazy. 💛
@CrystalsofArkansas2 жыл бұрын
Yes many many holes, nature slowly fills them in. In this location it’s really not that big of an issue like in other more mountainous unstable areas, where it is very important.

Went there with my kids years ago and spent an afternoon with the sun beating down and the sand/dirt blowing. Not sure what was exciting about it? Seriously? They are just slivers of crystals. So....seriously someone explain the fascination about it? Now if they were large like fist size, maybe I could see the excitement in it.

Great video, Dominik! I am wanting to go out there after it opens April 15th, as I have never been. It's about a 3.5 hour drive for me. So is the Mt. ida area actually... speaking of which, I would love to meet you down in the Mt. Ida area at a mine down there at some point! I am sure I could learn a lot from you. Have a wonderful day and thanks for uploading!! :)

@@CrystalsofArkansas the lady I was with in mt ida, we are currently looking for a place in Oklahoma. I want to be close to Arkansas mines and artifacts there,Oklahoma and tx. We are hoping to get a few acres or more. So wherever we end up, you will always be able to stop and crash there lol. We are even trying to find one w a separate house on property for the people who do visit. Then they have their own place lol
