Sent my letter of intent June and signed up for FLVS Flex to begin today for 3rd grade and got our welcome call from the teacher this afternoon. We were already using the FLVS platform for our local counties virtual school, so the transition was seamless! The only difference is that our local virtual school was public and on the school board's schedule and testing, and now we have the flexibility to enroll him in his 4 core classes and focus more on them and reading fluency! We are very blessed 🙌 Also, I've been a remote worker since 2020. ❤

Are there limits to the number of semesters or years a student can dual enroll prior to high school graduation or does it depend on the college's articulation agreement? My thinking is whether a student could take just one class per semester in middle or high school in areas they are advanced in while continuing other high school courses with the intent of later taking the max DE schedule in their junior or senior years of high school when they are prepared in all areas. Could they take a course per semester between 6th and 12 grade, for instance? Would they be limited to two years or 4 semesters or something similar of Dual Enrollment?

I pulled my daughter out of her school. I sent in the letter of intent, I was planning on homeschooling her but I was told she has to finish her 10th grade year with FLVS flex.. why is this? We are already signed up, but I’m just confused on why she can’t finish her 10th grade year at home. Thank you for your time

Can the PERT also be replaced by PSAT scores? Also, does the math score not matter? They just need to pass reading/writing? Only asking because I was waiting on my son to get to Alg 2 to try to take PERT for DE

Hello! I'm so very glad I found your video last night. I would like to know what the unit limit is for a 9th grade student just starting dual enrollment. My daughter is trying to finish up some classes before the December deadline to be eligible for DE in January/spring semester. Also, I just was told today that there may be some reimbursement for textbooks for home school kids (up to $300/semester).

Hi Jules! There is no official amount of high school credits that a student must have in order to be eligible. They just have to be doing high school level work. So, technically one semester of a high school level course must be completed to qualify. Now, having said that, you may want your student to have a couple of high school credits under their belt before launching them into college level courses ;-) Yes, you are correct - the new law went into effect July 1st, whereby homeschooled students who are registered via a letter of intent are eligible to receive free textbooks if they are dual enrolled at a FL state college. Each college is going to handle that differently, but we have gotten the info from almost all 28 state colleges and posted it in our Facebook group. Yeah well it would be great if you guys actually answered your phone calls or your emails we almost didn't get an evaluation done at all because we couldn't get in touch with you but thankfully another lady helped us out if you guys are no longer doing this it would be wonderful if you would please let the world know it seems that I'm not the only one who has had this issue according to the person I spoke to I hope that you guys are okay God bless you and have a wonderful day

Hi Stacey! No, the thing is that MaggiLu is the nickname that Curtis gave me when we met, a loong time ago. But, all of my family, friends call me Lupita, which is comes from Lupe, which is my actual name. :) Lupita means "little Lupe" in Spanish. As you can see it was very confusing, so I decided I wanted to just stick to ONE name - and so Lupita is it for here on out.
