Hey Ian! I use screen.studio, really simple screen recording app on MacOS. I actually forgot it does auto smoothing/blurring 😂. It has options for all of it though, maybe I will make a video on it next week!

hello! are you using screen studio for the recordings? do you still use mcamrig for those zooms or do you just do it directly in screen studio?

Typically I add zooms using mCamrig since it’s just easier to edit it all in FCP for me. That being said I usually use Screen Studio then export with no zooms since I like how it does the backgrounds. If I’m in a rush though and don’t plan on editing with Final Cut I’ll use the zooms in Screen Studio.

Honestly the main one I use is called "arapaho", it's a free LUT for a warm-ish quality to the footage. For the talking head aspects I put it on like 30% and it adds some nice tones.

Much of it yes! I had to use screen studio to record screen studio 😂. Some zooms were added in Final Cut but the core recording is done with screen studio.

It's annoying in FCP but you have to make a compound clip then add the transition within it. If it's at the start of the clip you can do a freeze frame to start.

In FCP you can do an automatic mask of your subject. Using this feature you can duplicate the footage and put animations like that between the two clips.

I use FCP's new subject masking to remove myself from the scene then duplicated that. Then I use Tap5a (mentioned in the video) to have the logo slide in behind me. The grainy intro is from MotionVFX (noise transitions.) I will be making a video of my favorite paid plugins soon.

You could learn how to use Motion so you can get graphics exactly how you want them. Anything by MotionVFX impresses me, they have some nice bigger packs with plenty of graphics. Also check out Envato, you can pay for a subscription and download plenty of different packs.
