I just found your channel a few days ago and decided to watch all of the videos. I find your idea of visiting 52 churches in 52 weeks to be a great idea. This episode has made me laugh. I have never heard of a church giving a free gift to first time visitors.

Our little church is going to start giving out a gift bag with small pack tissue, lip balm, hand sanitizer, pen, notepad.

I wish churches in Canada did this.

I have been watching many of your videos. I keep hoping you might get into the differences in theology between the various churches particularly after you mentioned that you wondered why there are so many different denomination. You have yet to address that reason for church hopping.

Hey Luke, appreciate your time and comments across the videos. There's been a lot of comments within the past month, so been difficult to find time to respond. Think one thing I've been finding out is the intentional church-hopping is a lot like a first date. The church will welcome you and everyone is on their best behavior. But it takes months to find out what the person is all about. Same with the church, you see the rituals and procession, get a hint of what it's all about, but takes time to truly understand what the church or denomination is all about with it's theology. I'm hesitant to deep-dive into the theology if I don't have a full grasp on it, which won't happen on one visit. Not saying it won't happen at same point, just want to do it justice, ya know?

@@52churchesin52weeks Yes a deep dive into any non denominational church would be investigating the life, personality and teachings of the pastor. Add to that the personality of the congregation. The difference really is about Pastor, and congregation. With an actual denomination like Baptists, or Lutherans your only need to deep dive once to know what their doctrine is and contrast them. There are different denominations because they disagree on their doctrine. Fundamental for me is what the Believe about God, and Christ. I can't bring myself to have faith in an immaterial, insubstantial God with no emotion (passion) which mainstream Christianity promotes. That God is adopted from Catholicism who adopted the idea from Plato.

Asking for tithes? Strange concept. My tithing is the first thing out of my check. I don't even notice it anymore. Although when it's a fifth week and I miss, I'm crabby till I do it. Licorice never expires, in fact the tougher it gets the funner it is to chew 😉
